Mini-Cakes as Favors

Hey! The menu at the location of our reception includes dessert. I thought it'd be cool to give mini-cakes as favors for guests to take home. I've priced a couple of bakeries that have said $15-25 per cake. Has anyone done this or having a suggestion of a bakery that may be a bit more afforadable? If I can't do this I think I'll doa cupcake tower from Sprinkles! Yummy! But I really would like the mini-cakes in a tower (for guests to take), with a small cake on top for us to actually cut! I had considered doing Cake Dots--putting 2 in a truffle box as favors to take home. It's out of my budget though but might be in yours. They are delicious! I think it's like $48 for 2 dozen or 36 or something. I can't find the website but page me if you want it and I'll find it.

Oh and they can also do towers but can't remember the price on that.

Yeah, I would say cupcakes. Probably way way way cheaper! Don't limit yourself to Sprinkles, though. In my opinion they are really overrated. There are a ton of people and bakeries in Dallas that make awesome cupcakes for a ton cheaper. I would for sure look around for cupcakes. Sprinkles cupcakes are delicous, but they're way too expensive, IMO. And I called them when I was planning my wedding and they don't give you a price break for bulk orders. LAME! Petit fors are pricey too, depedning where you go. I know some places have cake balls, but they might melt.
