Dante Stalworth killed a man driving drunk. He isn't allowed to play. Michael Vick did just as much of a heinous thing. Why is it ok for him to play?

Vick went to jail for how long....Stallworth got no jail time for Man Slaughter! I am not defending what he did, either of them. But you can not compare it.

Plaxico is a dumba@@ and shoots himself in the freaking leg and he is looking at 5+years in prison?!?!?!?! Um I think thats fair Don't you??

Being from Atlanta I hate Vick with all of my being. Secondly, Vick has not been training with Dungee. Dungee has been mentoring him, and speaking to teams on his behalf. Vick is going to be out of shape and probably pretty horrible for at least a year. He is going to be a mediocre back-up, if that.

I agree beach, Stallworth shoud of went to jail for much longer. So should of Vick in my opinion. And neither should play.

This will tell you how desperate I am for football season now that the Mets have officially crapped the season away. Last weekend me and the FI went up to Montreal (about 7hrs driving) to see an Alouettes game. Yes, I saw CFL to get my football fix. and this weekend I am Training Camp Bound.

The point of this thread isn't to "talk football," clearly it is pointing to an article which states that Vick was signed and as you can see most people think that it is ridiculous. What's sad is far too many people will agree that his "past is his past" and slowly let what he did fade from their memory. I shudder to think of the message it sends to kids who are raised to idolize NFL stars. I'm not saying that the other players that have committed crimes are any better, but as a dog owner and someone who has seen the effects of dog fighting rings, I find what he did to be unforgivable even if he is able to play well and sell tickets.

I used to be a HUGE Michael Vick fan.For a very long time, Baltimore did not have a football team so my team was the Falcons. I was shocked and saddened to find out what he did.

I was going to root for the Eagles this year. But, not so much now. I find this move suprising for many reasons not the least of which is that Philly (at least what I saw when I lived there) has serious issues with unwanted animals and dog fighting. I'm surprised that the team thought this was a good idea.

cew, I'm a Davidson grad.... lived in High Point for 4 1/2 years, and have a friend in Winston, and another one who is an anesthesiologist by day and a heavy metal guitarist by night in WS... LOL. I do miss NC, but really love IA. I've never seen so much snow. We had snow Thanksgiving weekend, and except for maybe 1 or 2 weeks, there was snow on the ground continually until like the end of March. And January??? HELLO - I woke up to negative 20. Degrees. Temperature. The wind chill was minus 46. THAT was an experience. Back to football.

The difference is, Stallworth was immediately and genuinely contrite. He accepted responsibilty and even the victim's family was ok with the outcome. Vick was only sorry because he got caught. Also: Burris is an idiot.

You came off as very know-it-ally about how a veil would look in a beach wedding. Lots of women get married on beaches with veils and have no problems with them. In fact, they make for lovely pictures if you are in a non-windy location. Please refer to Fishy's wedding photos or any of the destination girls' photos.

no no...I agree they look beautiful....but I have tried them, they aren't me. And I think it could get in MY way on the beach. Never did I once tell someone they were wrong for wearing a veil. I was curious to see who was wearing one, and who was not. If I was in the minority.

I'm an Eagles Fan and I was not happy about the annoucement. But I will still be an Eagles Fan... What he did was very, very wrong, but the 'enabler' in me says he paid his dues and should be given a second chance? That is the American way right? Yeah, I'm very torn, it's hard to turn back on my team, I've been a fan for 30 years. I just hope he really did learn from his mistake and will take this second chance and do something good with it.

Another Eagles fan opinion: I am in mourning.I can't believe they signed Michael Vick. I never thought that he'd be coming to Philly, never heard his name and the Eagles mentioned in the same sentence, never thought they were interested in him. I am so upset and I can't believe they are doing this.I've become especially aware of the pit bull situation nationwide because of Michael Vick, and although FI won't let me have a pit bull, I highly respect people who adopt and take care of them.If he wins games for my team, I am probably going to grudgingly enjoy watching him, because I remember how exciting it was to see him play back in the day. But I am so upset and so sorry that this has happened to my team.

I agree with Lynda. What he did was awful (and I'm sorry, I am a huge animal lover, but I think it is ridiculous that people on here are suggesting killing a dog is anywhere as bad as killing a person). He has spent time in jail, lost millions of dollars and repaid his debt to society. You don't have to like him, but I do believe in people being able to try and move on with their lives after serving jail time. This doesn't mean I don't think he's a douchebag.I hope all of you are this vocal next year when Stallworth starts playing again, or were this up in arms when Leonard Little was suspended only 8 games after killing someone.
