NWR: "Fun" books

I need a break from sad books. I enjoy Nicholas Sparks but I need something fun/funny. I think I remember someone saying the "Shopaholic" books are good. Any other recs? TIA!

Bridget Jones (both) if you haven't read them already. If you're at all a foodie or into the Food Network, you should check out Heat by Bill Buford. The author was an editor (I think?) for the New Yorker when he took a part-time job at Mario Batali's restaurant Babbo. It has a lot of biography on Mario Batali and is a great behind-the-scenes look into the restaurant world. I really really enjoyed it!

Something borrowed. I think the author is Emily Griffin. My friends bought me two of her books to read during our honeymoon, and I loved them. The other book was Something Blue, which was fun but not as good as Something Borrowed. When I have some time I plan to pick up her third book, Baby Proof.

Anything by Julia Quinn.  They are technically romance but they're not raunchy and can be a lot of fun too.

I also read and love the Emily Griffin books! I picked up the Somthing Borrowed on a random trip to the book store and read it in three days on a cruise.  I've read Something Blue, Baby Proof and will finally be able to start Love The One You're With when we go on vacation this weekend!

I 2nd the Shopoholic Books and 3rd the Emily Griffin books.  I also Love, love, love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.  They are numbered in the title (One for the Money, Two for the Dough, etc. all the way to 15).  All 3 things mentioned are laugh out loud funny (esp. shopoholic and stephanie plum- FI thinks I'm crazy when I'm reading them).

I love just about anything by Jane Green, she's one of the original 'chick lit' ladies and has a large list of books out already. One of my favs is Jemima J.

Oh! The Sookie Stackhouse books are also a lot of fun. I have all of them and you can borrow if you'd like.(They are what the TV show True Blood is based on)
