I'm sure I'll have a hundred questions over the next week!  These are such silly things, but my brain just isn't functioning.  I'm making customized drink stirrers.  This was my inspiration - http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/06/10/diy-project-custom-stir-sticks/I left the back side of the flags blank so people can write their names on them to help keep track of their drinks, reduce waste, etc.  I want to make a cute little sign explaining this simply. Any wording ideas?Also, we're passing around a journal as our guest book and are hoping that guests will share stories, advice, etc.  Should we just put a note inside thanking them for being there and ask them to share memories, stories and advice with the bride and groom?

    Both ideas are so cute!For the drink stirrers, how about a framed note next to the container holding the stirrers. It could say:Beverage Name TagsPlease help yourself to a swizzle stick name-tag for your beverage. To identify your glass throughout the celebration, please write your name on the flag. or something like that.For the journal, I'd either write something on the inside cover thanking them and asking them to share stories, memories etc. in the journal - or create a bookmark on cardstock so that it can move through the book as people write in it - in case people don't look inside the front cover.GL!

    I like Emily's ideas. For the journal, you could also have your bridal party write in it first to get it started, but of course there's no guarantee that people will read/glance at what they wrote.

    I love both of these ideas!Those drink stirrers make me want to throw a party just so I can make them!  Maybe "Mark your drink?"  Hmm, I can't think of anything cute.I'd make the first page of the book a little explanation and thank people for coming.  Great idea!

    Love the ideas . . . esp the journal. I think the little note is great. I might "borrow" this idea. haha I think it would make the perfect keepsake.

    I'm glad everyone likes the ideas!  I don't know why I'm so crazy about people marking there drinks.  I think it's because I always lose mine.  We're also using plastic cups, and I feel like we could cut the waste in half.  I'll try to post pictures of the flags this weekend.  KR - they're fun, but it's actually been way more time consuming than I ever expected! Thanks for the suggestions so far!

    Thanks, Emily and Sonya.  :)It could use some polishing - but it's a start.And Sonya, definitely have a note inside the journal asking everyone to share their memories, etc.

    I would def have a few people write in the journal before you pass it around, just so people get the idea. Plus some people are hesitant about writing in a virgin notebook... And I would say to tie a pen to a ribbon and stick that in the book- otherwise I'm sure the pen will get lost. And have extras on hand- maybe tell a BM where they are so they can keep an eye on it and grab a backup pen if needed. I like the bookmark idea- to she thoughts.  Or even make a book cover for the journal, explaning what it is and then just take the cover off after the wedding- easy enough- plus its right on the front so people will see it. Swizzle sticks- love them! Also, maybe tie a pen around the cup that will hold these. I can't think of anything... um- 'sign your swizzle' lol- thats the best I can come up with.

    Sonya - Sara is right it's swizzle - I had a typo and wrote sizzle!That's what I call them, too.  Swizzle sticks, not sizzle sticks. *lol*

    I never actually call them swizzle sticks, which is why I think it's funny I used that word. haha!
