dress/veil qustions

so, i tried on dresses today and fell in love with one except it was very much out of my price range... it was $2450 however the consultant gave me as many discounts as she could getting it down to 1660 (i was budgeting around 1500... so not bad right?) well i really didn't know if this was as good of a deal as it seems... part of the deal was that i was getting $300 off of a veil which we just put towards the gown bc I would need a veil anyway - but my question is are most veils around $300 - i just wasn't expecting to pay that much for a veil anyway so i don't know if i am really getting a deal??? ps. the dress is: enzoani - diana http://www.enzoani.com/main.html(i don't think i will wear the flower sash but possibly might put it on at the reception to spice things up - i would be getting the ivory flower not the black one shown... but will most likely wear a champagne sash tied in the back) - love the dress - but just can't justify the price ( this was also my 1st day trying on dresses)

That dress is gorgeous!  I have no idea how much veils cost, sorry!  Just thought I'd share my opinion on the dress :)

I found my veil on ebay for $15 and an exact replica of the $600 headpiece from B&F that I wanted for $60 on etsy. I would say shop around, and see if you can find a lower quoted price on a website to take into B&F - they price match.

Veils are really priced high!! $300 for a veil sound ridiculous to me though, but I had mine made to save money. Most veils I looked at were around $150-$200. My alterations person made my veil...I would suggest you see if you can have one made As for your dress, if this is the first time you have gone, I would suggest keep looking and don't buy the 1st you love if it is out of your price range. You can still go back and buy it if you do not find anything you love more. I went three different times to B&F before I made a decision. You can also look online to see if your same dress is available anywhere else for cheaper. There are some websites that offer discounted prices on certain gowns, plus you might find someone on ebay selling it.

If you want to have a veil made, contact Cindy Malinoff (cmalinoff at yahoo dot com) - she made mine. She is a dress seamstress and does alterations. You can see photos of my veil (cathedral length) in my pics.

Do not buy a veil from a bridal shop!  They are ridiculously marked up.  Just buy off ebay or etsy or (like me) make your own.  All it is is a piece of tulle sewed onto a comb.

Google: Land of Oz. Give them a call with the designer of your dress and veil and see if they can order it for you at cost. They are able to order certain designers for a very low price Worth a shot. GL

I was sooo close to buying that dress. It is beautiful! That is a great deal for that dress. As for the veil. Shop around online. I got mine on ebay from veils by leslie and it would have been 400 at bridal and formal and I paid 65.

ok here is the thing... i know i can get a cheaper veil elsewhere but i am just trying to justify the cost of the dress my substracting the cost of the veil - so it seems like veils can be bought for much less than $300 so i am really not getting that good of a deal? i guess i will continue serching for a dress... and if the enzoani is "the one" then i will just have to cut corners somewhere else...

I'm really confused.  Are you getting both the dress and the veil for $2450?  Or is she only giving you the discount on the dress if you also buy the veil?Because if you're getting the dress for that price without any other commitments, then that is a fabulous price for the dress, and once you've looked around some more and decided that's definitely "the one," I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.As for veils, I agree with everyone else.  DO NOT buy from a bridal shop.  The veil I wanted at Kleinfelds was $900+ (chapel length drop veil on a comb with a sequin edge).  There was absolutely NO way I was paying that much for a piece of tulle - my MIL made it instead for about $40.

Veils are VERY expensive go to smartbrideonline.com I found a head piece and veil and I'm spending about 150 all together. And the head piece is a close match to the one I found at B&F
