Do your guests a favor and a)put your bp dates with the bridal party for dinner ESPECIALLY if you know at least one of the dates knows NO ONE! b) if you choose to ignore "a" make sure you do assigned seating!!! I'm sooooo miserable right now!!!!

    Yep.  And this is what I said after we attended our last wedding.  Sitting by yourself at a wedding SUCKS.  :(Sorry you're having a crappy time right now, Erin.  Hopefully they'll let people up from the tables soon and you can go hang out with the FI.

    I COMPLETELY agree. I have been to a couple weddings where I am one of the groomsmen's dates, and it totally sucks. One time I was at a table without a single person I knew. Another time, I was with a few other of the dates - and we didn't even have a table!!!!!!! We sat on these lounge couches by the bar. Needless to say, I took my fair share of the open bar..... Have a heart and let dates sit with their significant others! We're doing a sweetheart table for that very reason. Sorry you're bored!

    Amen sista! I wish everyone understood what it is like to be that BP date who knows no one and is shy and soooooo uncomfortable!

    Sorry you aren't having a good time! Been there done that. We are not doing a head table just for that reason... who wants to be by themselves. I even thought of taking it one step further: All of our groomsmen live out of town & do not know each other. I was going to get a list of their sig others phone numbers and give it to their dates so they could hang out while the groomsmen are getting pictures in the limo with the bridal part etc. I don't know if it's a stretch, but at least they would know they could call one another b/c they will all be alone just during that time! Great advice though for the other Knotties.

    Because FI was immediately swept away for pictures, I was left to find a seat all by myself. Then, he saved the evening by coming and getting me and putting me at the table right next to his and with the best mans date and the best mans mom - 2 very lovely people! My heart just SANK when I saw only enough chairs for the BP and THEN saw there weren't assigned seats. We are having bp and their dates sit with us at a table. There are several guests who won't know many if any people so we will also be doing assigned seating.

    Yeah that stinks.We solved this problem by having only one attendant each! They'll sit with their families at the reception. Sorry you had such a crappy time. It's why we're assigning tables.
