Ideas for romantic hotels

I'm trying to research hotels for our wedding night.  We plan to leave for our honeymoon the next day, so we need a night in the Central Florida area.  I've been researching places like Embassy Suites, The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne, or our long shot hotel - Gaylord Palms.  Have any of you stayed in these hotels or do you have any similar suggestions?  Sometimes they have packages and specials, but they typically offer things we don't care for, like alcohol and spas.  We like the idea of having a suite, and possibly even a jacuzzi.  We just want a nice, romantic room to hole up in and enjoy our new marital status.

My fiancé and I stayed at Gaylord Palms for our 1 year dating anniversary in October and were not impressed with the rooms.  The grounds and the rest of the facility were BEAUTIFUL, but the rooms were outdated and smelled funny.  There was a notice in the room that said they were upgrading and remodeling soon, so maybe that will be done by the time of your wedding, but I wouldn't recommend staying there before that.  Just my opinion :)

Our favorite place we stayed at (we travel to Orlando a lot and stay overnight) was the Omni Resort in Championsgate.  We had no complaints at all.  The rooms were nice, the pool area was amazing.  They have a separate pool/hot tub for adults only and then a huge one with a water slide.  We had so much fun there.

I suggest Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal.  If you are flying out the next day try the Hyatt in the airport.  We told them it was the start of our honeymoon and they made it amazing.  We had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne.  Then when we expressed an interest in eating at their nicer restaurant, they informed us it was closed.  But, they put the menus in our room and had a room service server be our waiter for the night.  Not the most romantic hotel but nice if you are leaving on an early flight.

We stayed at the Portofino Bay on our wedding night.  They made everything spectacular and perfect and the hotel stay was actually better than our honeymoon.  We stayed a few nights there so we took advantage of the concierge free food and wine and also getting on the universal rides without waiting and we saw the opera singers in the evening. It was spectacular.  See the link below for a detailed review. YOu have to scroll all the way down to the very bottom for it.

The marriots around Orlando are nice. The JW is very nice and The World Center is very nice as well. Good luck!
