In Suite Reception - Vista Suite

Hi,I have pro-booked the Vista Suite for our reception and I was wondering about getting the room decorated and the alcohol up into the room as we have only booked the room for 1 night (the night of our wedding)..... I know you can request an early check in but our wedding is at 1 o'clock, does anybody know how early we can check in?? Did you get alcohol the day before and bring it from your hotel to Mandalay Bay?What did ye do in terms of decorating the room and bringing up drinks the day of the wedding??Thanks a millionSheilax

I believe early check in is at 11:00 a.m., but I was told it was not guaranteed (but very likely fine) and my brother will be getting the drinks the day of so that there is not to much transporting around......But I am not getting married until 6:00 p.m......I did that so not matter what I would have the room by the time the ceremony was over and the guest can go strait there while er take a few more pic's.....Hope that help's a little, I know most of the girls booked the day before for that same reason....

Honestly, you may want to hire a coordinator, or call MB and see if you can book for an extra night. Otherwise, you risk cutting things pretty close or having some of your guests unable to attend the ceremony because they're stuck setting up the reception. (My FI and BIL missed most of my sister's wedding ceremony for this very reason. It wasn't fun.)If that's not an option, keep your decorations very simple, and realize that you may have to start the party without booze.

I was planning on getting my own booze as well for my reception at a PH suite. However, another bride on here mentioned Absolute Beverage to me. They are a bartending company that will come to the suite, set up, provide all the alcohol, serve and clean up. Its 20 dollars a person for 3 hours and each additional hour is 125 bucks. I actually got them to give me a deal so the three additional hours are free. They also have other packages besides the 20 a person one. I figured the total cost was a bit more than we had budgeted to spend on alcohol but it was well worth it because we didn't have to worry about getting the alcohol, getting into the room, getting glasses, ice, limes, lemons, napkins etc. The website is www.absolutebeverage.com

Masterpiece Cuisine also offers a bartending package...For our reception, we are doing some key "signature drinks" and lambic beer in place of champagne...so M.C. rep told us he didn't think the liquor package was the best value for us and recommended buying our alcohol and bringing it in. I appreciated the honesty.

just checked out absolute beverage, the least they cater for is 50 and im only having 25 so thats out!!! Im sure I can do something else.... thanks for the effort anyway!!!!!!!!!!!

You may want to keep an eye out for deals between now and your wedding and see if you can book it for two nites.Are you getting ready in another room/hotel? I'm assuming the ceremony is at the Mandalay Bay as well? My only concern is what time do you plan on having your in-suite reception? Especially if you can't get an early check-in.....that could be a major problem.Keep looking at smartervegas.com, maybe MB will have a good deal going on that will better fit your budget for two nites.

If another night in the suite is not an option what will you do if you can't check in early? I don't know that they will guarantee that for you, but if they do are you going to get ready somewhere else? Even with an 11am check in a 1pm ceremony seems awfully tight.

You way want to watch planet hollywood panorama suite...they offer more deals on that suite than mandalay bay does.We are re-booking with panorama and using the money we saved for catering.Mandalay Bay did tell us that they could not guarantee early check-in...so we had booked it for the night before also.

I really think you may need to reconsider the timing of your ceremony if you can not book for two nights. Even if you are able to get in the suite at noon, an hour to get everything ready just doesn't seem like it would be enought time (decor, dress, food, beverages, guests in place, etc). I have the Vista Suite booked for two nights. I told them I was going for my wedding and they said they would make a note of it but could not guarantee an early checkin. I also thought the earliest you could check-in is noon, as checkout is by 11?

I agree with the other ladies that say you might want to reconsider timing. We had asked for an early check in as well for a Vista Suite, they knew it was our wedding. We didn't get in until about 2:45. It was the first one they finished cleaning. Our ceremony was at 5pm and by the time we set up the suite, and had my makeup touched up it was time to head down for the ceremony. Even that was WAY too tight and I was running all over the place and I only had to worry about the cake, flowers and decoration. We had the food and bar catered.

Hi girls, Thanks for the info, well the plan was to get dressed in the hotel where we are staying not the suite but the main problem is to try and bring up the alcohol before we get back from photo's ( we are having 3 hour photo after cermony) I suppose I could ask brother-in-law to orgainize that while the rest of the guests have a few drinks in the hotel while waiting for us to come back. I am not doing much in terms of decorating maybe candles/beads so that wont take long my friend would do that while we gone for photos. Do you think they would let somebody other than us check in to our suite? not sure!! Do you think this might work?? Thanks again for all the help.....

Excalibur and Mandalay Bay both told me that only people authorized to use my card would be allowed to check in for me. I did put Fi as an alternative at Mandalay Bay and they would change cc info...they had no prob with that.

I had my welcome dinner there. it turned out FABULOUS!! There is a whole foods if you turn right out of the hotel and go 2 miles down the road... and buy flowers and vases there reasonably priced! I bought huge vases of peonies and they were gorgeous....RENT A CAR (there is a rental place in the mandalay bay bottom floor - watch out for Sunny though - she'll pretend to get you a deal but sell the heck out of the insurance and it's a rip off) and go get your alchohol at the local grocery and buy styrophome coolers / bags of ice and place them by the windows...the bar is huge and you can put bottles of hard liquor behind the bar - MAKE SURE you ask for a view of the strip!!! We also catered in Maggianos and the hotel scared us saying they couldn't come up to set it up -- well they were able to get to the room and set up everything for us....it is well worth your money to book the room the night before so you can start early for the set up! everyone is still talking about that suite and for $400-$500 it's well worth it to get in there early!!!! Plus they gave me a handicap suite and there was no closet space and i couldn't store my dress so make sure you watch for that......
