flowers

I have a HUGE wedding party and I really need to shop around for flowers in order to not totally blow my budget on personal flowers.  Anyone have any suggestions of where they got the most for their money or florists that were more expensive than others but worth the extra cash?  Thanks!

One of my favorite vendors thus far has been my florist, Erin Steen. She works out of her house so the costs are significantly lower than florists I checked out who had their own shops (overhead costs). We're getting bouquets/bouttinnieres/small bouquets for the mothers/19 centerpieces/rose petals/2 pedestal arrangements for ceremony, etc. all for $1500. Let me know if you'd like her info.

We had a rather large wedding party too and divorced parents so two of everything and I felt the same way. We used Meade Wenzel and she was AWESOME! she does not have a shop so the cost is so much less and alot of people on here have used her I was very pleased you can reach her at 504-289-9883.

I'm using Grow with us florist- they're located right off of metairie rd.  So far they have been WONDERFUL.  We got everything (my bouquet, BM bouquets, bouquets for the moms/granmothers, boutonnieres, rose petals for the aisle (which were free), throw bouquet, two massive arrangements, and arrangemtns to line the aisle all for 1200 bucks.  I'm using hydrangeas too- a more expensive flower.  Their store is so cute and the lady in charge is young and hip.  Highly recommended!

I'm using Cristina Omalley. I checked around too and got a lot of raves about her and her prices. I could see why right away. She offered to solve a few problems and help me with some things not even flower related so I kind of feel like I'm getting coordinating help for free! I've also heard good things about the above mentioned ladies, but not the shop.

I am using Mrs. Phylis with Impressionable Designs on the Westbank. She does beautiful work and can work with any budget.  I'm doing a mix of fresh and silk and told her what I needed (7 bouts, 1 bridal, 1 throw, 5 bridesmaid boquets, 2 kissing balls, 3 corsages, 3 offerings and some extra flowers for the reception).  She's doing it all for $500. I'm pretty easy to please so if you have very specific ideas for what you want, it may cost more but that would be for you and the florist to work out.If you want her info I can give it to you. Goodluck!

I'm using Bee's Florist and I LOVE them.  While they are probably not the cheapest you will find, they provide a LOT of extra service and sort of act like mini day of coordinators.  I think we have them for 6 hours in our contract.

You can see Lara's flowers in the video - just press play in my siggy.  Dee Vu owns Bella Blooms and is super talented and easy to work with.  We've become friends and I've seen a good bit of her work in different styles and colors - always amazing.  Advice:  if budget is a concern, do one fabulous arrangement at the reception instead of many and let the florist use their skill and flower knowledge to keep costs down. Don't sacrifice style. Gook luck, betsy

I'm using Meade Wenzel too. Amazing work and you'll be surprised how cheap she is (it's because she doesn't have the overhead that most florists have).

Lisa with Petals and parties is really good at stretching your budget, and you would never know looking at the gorgeous arrangements.  She also does the decorating for  major events like the sugar bowl, so she has great ideas!

Bee's is not the cheapest but they provide excellent service. From what I have seen, the flowers Bee's provide are beautiful. Eric is wonderful to work and does act like a mini-coordinator.  He always gets back to me quickly and truely is helpful with my vision of how I want things. I want someone reliable that I can trust. I dont want to worry about if the florist will show up or not.  I have left two messages for other floral shops and some are already booked. Fat Cats email message said it would take up to 3 weeks for an appointment. I don't want to take a chance and wait. Hope this is helpful to all brides.
