after party

Is anyone planning on going out with their guest after the reception?  If so, where?

Our after party is at Grand Victoria.  We're getting married in Aurora, IN and we're heading down there with about 20 of our friends after the reception.

We will not because we have an early flight out the next morning.

We will be going out after, probably to Tinas downtown since its a favorite for all my wedding party. Its either that or another chill bar since I think my dancin shoes will be about busted after 4 hours. We will be downtown.

We are planning on it, but not sure where yet. Probably whatever bar is closest, so somewhere in w. hills or cheviot, maybe delhi. Prolly JTaps or somewhere close...

We'll either walk across the street to Habits Cafe or go to the lobby bar in the Hilton where we and our guests are staying.

I didn't realize it was common to have a party after the reception! I figured we would just head to the hotel because we will be exhausted!

We were exhausted, but we were having such a good time we didn't want it to end so we went out.  The adrenaline helps A LOT. :)

I'm trying to put together an afterparty where we can get a private room.  I've looked at Havana Martini club and Lodge Bar / Blackfinn.  We both have large families and are unable to invite all of our friends that we'd like to.  So the reception will be mostly family and we're having an afterparty to include everyone.  Question:  If you were a friend that received an invite to only the afterparty, would you be upset, or glad that we were able to include you in some part of our day?

I would not do after-party invites.  You should let people know that you're having an after-party by word of mouth.  If you invite some friends to your wedding/reception and only invite another group of friends to the after-party, it might make them feel like second-class friends.  I guess it depends on how close this other group of friends is.  That's a tough one....

We are going to Hollywood or Belterra. I have told all of our friends and everyone is invited. Only our closest friends have said they will go. I am letting everyone fend for themselves for a hotel!!!

I wouldn't go to an after party for a couple whose reception I had not been invited to.
