We are going to Napa Valley, CA!  I can't wait!  I'm a total wine-o and I plan on turning FI into one too.  We don't have the $$ to do an all-inclusive tropical honeymoon, or the time, since we are teachers.  We are getting married 12/27, and have school again by 1/4.  We're going from 12/29-1/2.  :)  I'm so excited and know I'll be shipping home like 2 or 3 boxes of wine.  :) Val

We're going to Maui and Oahu for a total of 11 nights, all the info is in my bio. We chose Hawaii because neither of us had ever been and we wanted the tropical getaway. We chose Maui because we heard it's beautiful and very relaxing. We chose Oahu because we wanted to see the "night life" of Hawaii. Hope that helps!!

Zello, your napa honeymoon sounds amazing! :)  I have always wanted to go there.  We were trying to save some money, so we did a mini moon for 4 days in Door County, WI.  It was in the middle of January, so it was awesome!  We were the only ones there at most of the restaurants and wineries we visited.  It felt very secluded and it was gorgeous (snowing) the entire time.

We are going to Puerta Vallarta.  We are looking forward to the warmth in November.  Plus, my parents have been to various cities in Mexico and they said Puerto Vallarta was their favorite and is more reasonably priced than some others.

Thanks girls!  Love hearing where everyone's planning on going/has been! Zello- enjoy your honeymoon - Napa is amazing!  If you need any recommendations, let me know.  I am a total wino, too! Jen - It sounds like your Door County minimoon was very relaxing.  I think I might like planning the honeymoon more than the wedding! ; )

we've changed it a dozen times! First it was going to be Puerto Rico. Then I wanted Barbados. Then I wanted the Gallapagos Islands. Now it looks like we're gonna delay it until March and go to Napa, Sonoma, and Vegas. =) We're saving for a house, so we're gonna do something cheaper and for our anniversary go to the Gallapagos.

My DH and I travel a bit and wanted our honeymoon to be mix of culture, dining, and beach. We also wanted to go somewhere we both hadn't been before so we chose to go to Athens and Santorini Greece. I would highly suggest the Greek Islands. It is breathtakingly gorgeous. We spent two weeks in Sonoma County, CA.  It was amazing.  So many vineyards.  We went up to San Fran for 2 days and spent a day in the redwoods.

we wanted to go to Tahiti or Hawaii but with our current financial situation we just can't swing it. So we are going to Sandals St. Lucia because the geography of the island is much like hawaii/tahiti with mountains, inactive volcano, rainforest, pitons, etc. Plus, we liked the all inclusive part so we don't need to budget for food and drinks while we're there.

We went to Costa Rica - we choose it because we didn't want to just spend a week on the beach, but wanted to still have the option to do so for days where we just wanted to relax - Costa Rica had a great mix of beaches, jungle, active volcanoes, and so many activities (ziplining, kayaking, surfing, snorkling, white water rafting, horseback riding, hot springs, etc...) that it was a perfect fit for us.

We are going to visit two islands and resorts in Fiji for 12-14 nights. It's a really long flight, but the Fijian dollar is weak right now, so it's more affordable than it sounds. I fell in love with the small, secluded resorts and the accommodations, plus our food is included. I had originally wanted Tahiti/Bora Bora but I didn't think it was worth the hefty price tag to stay at a hotel with tons of people when we can stay on a private island with no more than 30 other people! Maybe an anniversary trip someday.

Ditto on Hawaii! Have you been there? Neither my FH or I have ever been there so we both felt it was somewhere you have to go if you live in the US :)

We went to Maui.  Before we started dating, my husband was in Maui for a week on a family vacation.  During that week that we didn't talk is when we realized how we felt about each other and decided to start dating shortly after that, so that's one reason we went to Maui.It was the best vacation I have been on.  The weather was beautiful every day, there was a lot of activities to do, like horseback riding on Haleakala, ziplining, kayaking, etc.  Maui had some of the best restaurants I have ever been to and the vibe there is so relaxed.  It was definitely worth the money.

We went to Belize and Guatemala for 10 nights and LOVED it. We chose those places because we wanted a trip that: 1) Was to places we'd never been (we have both traveled and lived overseas extensively so this one was kinda hard!) 2) Did not require more than 8 hours of flying (DH's family lives in Indonesia so we are well used to 36+ hour travel and didn't want that for the HM) 3) Had things to do other than the beach 4) Was somewhat affordable. We stayed in bed & breakfasts, jungle lodges, our own condo on the beach. Went hiking, spelunking, swimming, etc. etc. etc. It was both active & relaxing, close & affordable. I would HIGHLY recommed Central America!

We are taking a minimoon to Oahu right after our wedding and then we are planning a two and a half week trip to Madagascar in December.  I've always wanted to go there as all the flora and fauna has developed independently since it's an island.  It's truly my dream trip and my fiance really wanted someplace special and unique.

We are going on a 7 night Western Mediterranean Cruise and cannot wait. It includes Barcelona, Naples, Rome and Florence, and 2 cities in France (Ville Franche/Nice and Marseilles). I truly hope we are able to go on all the shore excursions I want especially Amalfi Coast/Positano/Pompeii and Sorento. Becky D - I will have to review your HM Bio after work as I would love to see how much fun you had on yours.

We also went to Puerto Vallarta and stayed at Dreams PV. It was wonderful -- we highly recommend it! We got upgraded to a phenomenal suite in the penthouse and it was just amazing. The food was out of this WORLD, and the pools, beaches, and all-inclusive was definitely the way to go. It was so relaxing and fun to unwind after the wedding hustle. Like pp said, PV is a great place in Mexico...much cleaner and safer than lots of Mexico. Our resort had a private beach, so you weren't constantly getting harassed to buy things, etc. The staff was also IMPRESSIVE. I've stayed at all-inclusives in Acapulco and Cancun, and the staff begged and expected tips. We encountered NOTHING of the like in PV, it was nice. Highly recommend! Oh, and it was super reasonable. If we weren't saving for a house and new cars, we'd probably have gone to Hawaii.

We are going to Thailand for 10 days -- first Bangkok for touristy stuff and then Koh Samui for pure relaxation and beach time. FI is from the Cayman Islands so were trying to avoid just doing a beachy vacation. Excited!

We're going to Jamaica for a week (leaving the Monday after the wedding) and staying at the Couples Isle Tower in Ocho Rios. Initially I wanted the South Pacific...but we couldn't justify spending thousands of dollars on one week of relaxation.  Our honeymoon is only going to cost us about $4,000 plus it's all inclusive and FI really loves that idea. I chose Ocho Rios because there are a ton of touristy things to do there...and I am your typical tourist! =0)  I'm really excited!

French Polynesian for 10ish days. 5 days in Moorea and 5 in Bora Bora. Long over night flights make the trip as a whole a couple days longer. CANT WAIT!!!! We scuba dive, so we wanted to go somewhere really know for their diving, other then the caribbean since we been fortunate to have traveled there a few times already. I just hope I dont come home with any shark bites!!!!

Paris :) We considered no other option for honeymoon location. I've always wanted to go to Paris ever since i was a little girl- there is no other place i'd rather be other than the city of love! :) We're not beach-people and we love art, culture, fashion, and photography so this is where we will be in a month.
