need to pick a date soon!

Okay, I already posted a little on this, but I thought of something else, so I need opinions. Trying to decide between a sunday or a friday, the consensus on the last post was a friday, because the reception will be more of a party, which i agree with...BUT, what about the sunday before labor day? best of both worlds, right? People won't be coming from school/work (most likely) and the next day is labor day, so no school or work then! I know sunday weddings are more laid back and tend to end earlier, but do you think since it's a holiday weekend people will be up for a party anyway? Is this an awesome idea, or am I missing something? Thanks to pharmflute87 for the suggestion!

There are a few drawbacks to that.  1.  People often have yearly plans already laid out.  If you do the day before labor day, watch out for hotels because of the fireworks and people traveling.2. Vendors often go out of town for holidays as well.3.  You often don't get as many discounts to that day because it's considered a 'holiday'.  As a guest, I'd much rather do a Friday than give up a three day weekend to have a wedding smack dab in the middle.  Here's an article talking about it:http://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/25/style/field-notes-when-a-holiday-weekend-gives-way-to-a-wedding-party.html

Also, don't forget that a liquor license cuts out or is unavailable at different times on Sunday, so that might limit your party (depending on where you live).

I would stick to having your wedding on a Friday.  I personally do not like giving up my holiday weekends for weddings.  Travel/hotels are more expensive during holiday weekends.  Vendors may not discount prices b/c it is a holiday weekend.

If you are trying to choose Friday or Sunday because it is cheaper, most places do not honor those cheaper prices on a holiday weekend since its not like a typical Friday or Sunday.
