Officiant recommendations

Hi, I know this probably is a common post but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an officiant in the cincinnati area.

The best, hands down, is Kathryn Siefert at Brides of Cincinnati. She works with brides to see they get the exact ceremony they want. Her contact info is kjsiefert@yahoo.com or 513.374.5290. We recently had some posts here on The Knot about her and it was agreed by all that she's warm, funny, patient and a great asset to any wedding. Good luck and I hope you get to meet her.

I don't recommend Bill Proud from personal experience. Maybe you'll have a different one.Kathryn Seifert, she only books one wedding a weekend to keep conflicts from happening (this was our issue with Bill).

Many Officiants book more than one wedding a day or weekend. Make sure you go over your timeline with your bridal party and with your officiant so everyone is on time and no problems occur. Timing is everything!

I agree, but most officiants allow more than an hour and a half time gap b/w your ceremony and the other wedding (delays are quite common). Also, they tend to try to schedule you in for a Friday night rehearsal, instead of telling you that you get no rehearsal.

I had no problems at all with Bill. His process was wonderful and we were ready to book the first day we met him. We met with a few others including Kathryn Siefert and just didnt like them. Its personal preference. I suggest meeting a few of them and finding one that fits with you and your fi's personality.

I highly recommend and agree that Kathryn Siefert is the best hands down. She has been so patient and is incredibly warm and inviting and will do whatever you and your FI want for a ceremony, religious or not. We sat and talked w/ her for almost 2 hours the first night that we met her b/c she was just that easy to talk to. I would def meet with a few officiants to see who you click with. But we love Kathryn!! GL!

Check out www.wednowcincinnati.com (we used her for our wedding) and www.weddingvowsandpromises.com (our runner up).My suggestion: meet with several--you'll get a different vibe from each person. We met with Kathry Seifert and thought she was a tad "phony", or over the top. Works for some, just not for us.

I have been to several weddings officiated by Steve Hoffman. He keeps things pretty light and usually has the guests laughing. http://www.stephenljhoffman.com/

Sorry wesveral found Kathryn "phony". I think Teresa and I are in agreement that she's just about the most down to earth, caring person ever! Too bad you didn't see what we saw in her. Meet with her yourself and make your own decision. We happen to love her as did my extremely picky and demanding mom. If Kathryn can tame THAT lion, I'd say she's pretty great!

A friend of mine had Steve Hoffman. He showed up 15 minutes late to the ceremony (delaying everything and seriously stressing out the bride and her mom) and didn't even stay for one picture after the ceremony. Because he had 5 or 6 Sat eve weddings scheduled. Just a heads up.

We're using Robb with Lucky Clover. You don't have to have them as a photographer to use him, but we are. He meets with you a couple of times to come up with a ceremony that you like and are comfortable with. We've enjoyed working with him so far - he's laid back and open to ideas I have for my ceremony. I've also attended a mutual friends wedding that he did and it was really nice. His email is robb@luckycloveronline.com.
