A little of everything.....

Hello fellow knotties. This is only my 2nd time posting a message. I havent created any bio or anything because well frankly not to good at the whole computer thing. So here is a lot of issues that I am having. FYI My wedding is May 8th (mothers day weekend) at the Embassy Suites in Blueash wedding and reception.1st. How do you add the countdown timeline on the emails?Today I met with a couple of photograpiers and I like Beachphotography. Does anyone have a comments on them. Also met with masterworks photography loved them also but so pricey...(thinking about booking w Beach)I stopped by Affordable Wedding Creations and really liked the baker there. Any comments? When reading everyones messages I sometimes feel so lost like I dont have everything done. Okay last thing I am having a hard time narrowing down exactly what I want for the flower arrangements. I know that I want calla lillies and roses but not sure what to do for the bm. Considering flowers are really expensive..A little advice ladies and sorry the email is so long.

I HIGHLY recommend Tres Belle for cakes.  Tracey is fantastic! If you are concerned with the costs of flowers, are you able to DIY?

I HIGHLY suggest Affordable Wedding Creations! I'm using her, and my matron of honor used her 3 years ago and I would never go anywhere else:)

I personally have not used Beach, but one of my good friend's did and I was in the wedding. I didn't think her pictures were very good, they add a lot of cheesy editing. Also while we were doing bridal party pics all he was doing were very traditional poses and I actually was telling him different poses that would be good. If it was me I would look around a little more and also ask for recommendations from the girls here. You could probably find a better photog for around the same price. Hope that helps!

I haven't contacted them yet, but I have received some great comments surrounding Affordable Wedding Creations from people that have used them in the past.  From what they have mentioned the cake was beautiful, delicious and less expensive than any others they have found! Good luck!

Affordable Wedding Creations gets pretty good reviews from what I've seen and they also do flowers! I would strongly suggest you continue your search when it comes to photographers...  there are too many others that do a better job with more up to date work at competitive prices.  My brother's wedding pics from 2007 are really awful.  We really don't even talk much about their wedding because it infuriates my mother over the photos.  They're dark, poorly edited, poorly placed in the frame, there's 50-million "snap shot" style photos from the reception with people smiling behind their beer bottles, but not a single decent formal shot of me and my brother, let alone our whole family.  If it's a matter of budget, I know I've seen girls on here rave about Lucky Clover and No. 9 Images when it comes to a more budget-friendly photog.  No "personal" experience with either but have seen the photos from other knottie bios good luck!!

There have been a few previous knotties here that used Beach and were not happy.  I do remember one girl in particular booked them for her wedding and didn't have good experience with them so they ended up canceling and using someone else.  We are using Masterworks and they are a bit pricier, but its worth it.  They have been customer's of my mom's for a really long time and are just genuinely great people.  We felt that it was worth the extra moneyIf you meet with a few different vendors for each thing you are getting stuck on, that usually helps.  It gives you a feel for their personalities, pricing, work, etc.  We had no idea what we wanted when we were talking w/ our florist and she put us in the right direction.  Most vendors are able to get a good feel for what you want when they start asking questions.  GL!!

You are not behind at all. I was not even as far as you are at this point and I am coming down to the wire and fine. Dont settle on anyone without shopping around. I met with 5-6 photogs before I selected mine. You get what you pay for with photographers. If photography is important to you, spend more money on it. When it comes to cakes, it doesnt hurt to taste and shop around. I am not sure if there are any bridal shows coming up, but we got a coupon for 10% off our cake by attending one. this saves a ton of money. When it comes to flowers, again, shop around. We are all using different florists for different reasons. Look at blogs and websites to see if you like their style. If you do, schedule a meeting. I only knew what I wanted for my flowers, and had three different florists setup three very diffferent options for everything else. I am using Katie Elfers becuase I love her style and her pricing. She will work to make you happy as well as other florists.Good luck. Ask anyone questions. That is what we are here for!

Well ladies earlier I was so excited about accomplishing something today. I thought that I liked Beaches,  I can say that the pictures were not as nice as masterworks. I highly recommend Lucky Clover Productions for your photog. They are super nice and very easy to talk to. I have not worked with them yet, only a face to face meeting to discuss the contract, but our e-pics are scheduled for Oct. 11th and I'm super excited about it! As far as flowers go, I have seen bm's hold about 5 calla lilies with really long stems tied with a ribbon near the top and it was really pretty - and it could save you some since it's only a few flowers per girl rather than a ton??? Don't worry about not having everything done, you have plenty of time. Just get your major things out of the way first. HTH!

First welcome and congratulations! I am using Lucky Clover for our photos. They are really easy to work with. I just got our engagement session pictures back yesterday so feel free to take a look. If you want to see more, let me know. I searched high and low for photography ( I am a budget bride!). There were several places that we "good" but there wasn't the extra touch. I am very satisified with all my vendors! I am doing my flowers on my own. I am doing hydrangeas and roses. I am going to purchase them from Sam's or a wholesales (if I can find one) and put them together myself. I am going to do a test run in a few weeks to make sure I know what I am doing and to find out how much water the hydrangeas really like!

Yeah, no personal experience with Beach either...but my boss used them. The photos were fine, but he said it took nearly nine months to get his albums. We're using Lucky Clover also, but there are tons of budget friendly photographers that seem to have a better reputation than Beach. Just find several that you really like and schedule meetings with them. You'll know if you've found the right one once you meet them (well, that's what I think, anyway). My aunt has begged us to let her make our cake (she's a retired baker, so it'll be fine...) so we aren't using Affordable Wedding Creations, but they were definitely on our short list. HTH! Good luck! Kelli

Affordable Wedding Cakes (Peggy) did our cake for our Aug. 8th wedding. It was absolutey the most beautiful cake and was delicious! She was wonderful to work with....so affordable. We had cheesecake, and different flavors and Swag fondant layers...with real flowers...wish I had a picture to show you..but haven't gotten them back yet! Absolutely recommend it!!!
