OK I have decided to use Dot the I's as my wedding planner.  Jaime and Joely are awesome to work with and I think they are going to do a great job keeping me in budget. They have a photographer I was wondering if anyone had reviews on.  Photography by Jennifer Lynn.  I saw her work and it is really awesome and she is affordable.  She is offering free engagement pictures right now and you dont have to book her.  After reading posts, I did ask her what was included and she said 10 photos on a disk edited, and 2 8x10's. She did say if you booked after the engagement session, she would giv ea 10% discount. It all sounds good, but does anyone have any experiences?I am going to meet with her this week and I will let you know how it goes!

    Congrats, Mrs. Nelson 2 be.Sounds like your def. on a rollStay far far far away from Photography with Jennifer Lynn!If it sounds too good to be true it probably is! My Moh ment with her and she was showing her pics of her own wedding...well, clearly she didn't take those! hahaLacks experience, we checked her references and the studio she said she worked at, stated they never heard of her.I could go on.Please, check out other photographers, sooo many of them work with any budget! Anyone on here can give u a rec.I wouldn't even waste the time meeting with her. My MOH was less then impressed! Wow, I wanted to see if her website had been updated since we had last seen it which was June of 2008! Only one other wedding has been added. Weddingwire.com has some "fake" reviews that she told my moh that she had her friends add. But there are a few pics there with the "touch of color" effect and wow, just wow. Just plain, BAD...too many photo shop and def. a poor job at that.UGH! It makes me sick to think people actually pay for her services! Ask her to see the hundreds of pictures that she has taken from the hundreds of weddings she has done! She doesn't have them! Save your time, keep on looking!

    I haven't heard anything about her, but you have to sit down and think about what you really want from your photographer. Do you want mostly formal photos or do you want some photojournalistic creative photos? Is your photography important enough for a splurge or do you just want some photos to document the day?I recommend our photographer, HK Photography (Hubert Kopec). He has packages starting at $1500 but is willing to customize to fit your needs - they're very easy to work with and talented. You get DVDs of ALL of your images ALL touched up (we had a couple hundred for our engagement session and 850 for our wedding).     highly recommend John LoConte from johnlophoto.com awesome to work with and has great prices... he is out of boston or the boston area but does travel to CT for weddings... hth :)

    Linds - Thank you for your imput.  I am going to met with her tonight.  I have checked who she worked for before and it was a known photographer in the area.  My friend actually hired that photographer and she was a shooter for them.  So I know she has the background. My wedding planner has pictures from the weddings she has shot for them, so I know that work is her work. I think her photojournalistic style is what I am looking for.  I was hoping to get opinions from people who have actually worked with her though and not just met with her.I will look into the wedding wire thing too.I am not picking a photographer just based on budget, I want to make sure I click with them too.  I am meeting with her, and a DJ tonight so we will see how it goes.  I will make sure to ask her a lot of questions, and I think I may mention this situation and see how that goes. Thank you for your recs, I have written them down and will look into another photographer after this meeting if its not what I am looking for!!Thanks guys!

    Has anyone ever used or heard feedback on Thomas Hulrbut Photography out of Ashford or Scott Perham Photography out of Litchfield?I really liked their website galleries and plan to meet with both of them next week. They were both really nice to talk to and seem to be able to work with any budget.Thanks!!

    I highly recommend Kim Hoyt from Chateau photography. We just got our proofs back and she took 650 pictures. Our package was totally budget friendly and she is awesome to work with. I posted my pictures under the topic Awesome Photographer below.

    Mrs. Nelson -I wish you luck!!! :) I don't see much proof of her work. and when we called Russell they said they never heard of her.  Just telling you what I heard that is all! :) Photo's are one of the most important things, wedding wise IMO. I don't know of anyone who has booked with her. Just trying to help you have the best/stress free wedding possible.  GL

    I think Linds recommended most of the photographers that are popular on the board.We used James Grout (I think Linds had him listed as James Grubb).  We were very happy with his work.

    Linds - Thank you so much!  I know you were just being helpful and I appreciate that!   I know that she did work for Russell's because Russell's shot my best friends wedding and Jennifer was the shooter, so that I can tell you is true.  She actually was a second photographer with Russell who used to own the studio.  I am meeting with her tonight at 6:30 and she has been great with getting back to be with emails and all my questions.  She has emailed me 2 entire weddings that are through her online proofs for brides and grooms and they are not the same as the ones on her site or wedding wire.    I will let you know how it goes!! Maybe it was just a misunderstanding with your MOH and her?  Some people just don't click you know?  Thank you so much for the information!  That is why we are all here!!!!!

    GOOD LUCK!! :) be careful in this weather Ask for more then 2 weddings.U want to see more then that, experienced photog's have more then 2 more like 100+Just look around, that's all I'm saying! :)

    I just returned from my meeting with the photographer and DJ.  I addressed some of the concerns I had regarding the information I had received on this post.  I have to say after meeting with Jenn, I could not disagree more.  She was very polite, very professional and seemed like one of the most honest vendors I have met with.  I asked her about the comments regarding Russells and she took it very light-heartedly.  She never said anything negative about them, but did confirm for me that she had in fact worked there, and not only that...but Russells shot HER wedding while she was still employed there!  As a matter of fact the owner of Russells is close friends with Jenn's sister-in-law and is in some of her photos!!  She was more than willing to show me her own wedding photos proving they were done by Russells.  Why would they say they never heard of her when they were the ones who shot her wedding?  I don't know about you guys, but I would be hesitant to work with a vendor who I just found out is lying to me.  Anyway, as I said, despite being asked these questions, I found Jenn to be very polite, very helpful and very knowledgable.  I still have some other vendors to meet with, but I can tell already that I am leaning toward using Jenn as my photographer.  Honesty is important to me when planning my wedding, and I feel that Jenn was completely upfront and honest with me.  Her work was just as good as many of the other photos I've seen on other photographers websites and is half the price of some of them.  I also met with Jim who is the DJ for Romantic Entertainment.  He had some unique ways to customize my wedding, which I liked, so my wedding won't feel like everyone else's.  He also was friendly, polite and professional.All in all, it was a good meeting and I may have found both my photographer and DJ on the same day.Thanks for everyones help!!

    Mrs.Nelson2be- I am happy that you clicked with Jenn.  I also had an appointment with her and booked her for my wedding.  I must have met with three other photographers and it just didn't feel right.  Jenn was very professional and her pics spoke for themselves.  Her packages were reasonably priced compared to other photographers..  I have no doubt that she will do a fantastic job!  Good luck to you!
