Getting in Shape

1 month weigh in.

Today was my 1 month weigh in.. I was kinda nervous but kinda excited..  I havent been excercising due to working long nites at work ( I know excuses, excuses) but I am getting back to walking with my MOH and doing my video workouts this week.I weighed in today & lost 4.4 lbs in one week.. holy cow, I have no clue but somehow I did.. Which makes a grand total of  9.8 lbs in 1 month. I am soo excited.. plus, I got more stars..I think I have been losing so much weight so fast because I am back on my thyroid medication and it helps.. When I plugged my weight into WW online it actually told me that I need to slow my weight loss down.. but I have talked to my doctor about it & he said it is normal when I am taking my medication & when my thyroid gets back to normal..Just had to share.. I am soo excited.

  • Thanks Nebb.. I was so excited.. I actually cheated & weighed myself on thursday & my scale said the same thing so I knew it had to be true.. I just feel so happy.. and it makes me want to excercise & try even harder this next month.. I have 3 1/2 weeks till engagement pics... I wanted to be under 200 but I have 13 more lbs for that but hey, I am proud of what I have done so far.. even if I dont get to that goal by that date.. I will get to it eventually.. then I will set another goal..

    Little goals are great! Set yourself a little goal for the month of September - something easily attainable that you dont have to kill yourself to accomplish (but still work hard). It really helps to boost confidence. OH how is your wrist doing??I dont recall if i ever saw an update on that recently.
  • Nebb- It completly went away.. and one day about 2 weeks ago it came back for 1 day and went away & has been fine ever since.. I think I just strained it.. thanks for asking.. Chicago- Sorry.. I think my sister wants to hate me a little too.. right now she is struggling and over her month she lost .4 ... she gained 1 lbs this week.. she has been struggling with her thyroid issue too though..

    That makes sense. When I first started lifting I got a weird pain in my right wrist, it miraculously appeared one day, went away, flared up again one day randomly (oddly enough never when I did upper body weights and would be using my wrist either), then went away and hasnt happened again since. Bodies do funny things!
  • Nebb- That is so strange.. hopefully it doesnt come back.. I have had issues lately with my knee ( had surgery last nov).. but I have learned to deal with it.. lol.. not gonna keep me from doing stuff.. and from excercising.. which I plan to start up again since I am back to my normal work schedule.

    Are you still thinking of doing spinning? Ive been going with a friend, and she is not at the fitness level yet to get out of seat during it, and she still gets an excellent work out. She lost 3lbs this week without changing her eating or doing anything differently.
  • Nebb- I still want to do spinning but I am really afraid to try it to be honest... I am terrified. I havent been working out in like 2 weeks due to training at work & working 9.5 hour days.. I am afraid that I wont be able to do the whole class.. that I will be hurting so bad after 20 mins.. I cant cycle that fast.. I wish there was a begining class.. I kinda wanted to workout on the bike for a month or so before I try it.. but the bike seems so boring for me that I never end up doing it.

    The instructor of the class I go to says that the best thing about spinning is that you can go at your own pace and your own resistance. You control the work out and can go as hard or as easy as you want. Dont worry about keeping up pace wise to everyone else, do what you can and you will still get a good work out!
  • Hmm.. Maybe I will try it this week sometime.. I tried to find the classes online but they wont show them.. I will have to call them.

  • Wow! That is amazing! I just recently had a 1 month weigh-in, and I think I had lost about 5 pounds. If you have any tips, I'd really love to hear them!
  • Music- not sure about tips.. I am doing WW which if I do it  right I always seem to lose weight on it.. not sure.. but I am also on thyroid medication which seems to make me lose alot more..  Only tip I really have is drink tons of water.. and to plan out your days worth of meals in the morning.. write it down.. plan out everything so you have a plan to stick to.
