My silly FI won't wear sandals of any kind

I want to go barefoot for the ceremony (on sand). He will wear a suit but I can't find any shoe that is dressier than a deck shoe but not full on dress shoe.

Any ideas?

  • My FI is going barefuut with me.  Does your FI not like that idea?

  • no, he's strange about his feet. I would love him to be barefoot as well but that won't happen!
  • Mine too, won't wear sandals, I hope to break him of this over the summer. I can't imagine how he's going to live in boat shoes the 8 days that we are in the DR.
Better yet, Mine has decided that he wants to wear a black suit and dress shoes, though I keep telling him that it will be hot outside when we start at 4pm, he doesn't care. I refuse to fight with him over the way he wants to dress, it's his wedding day too. Makes no sense for us to fight over this.
I would suggest you look at Cole Hann or Kenneth Cole for guys shoes, both these companies make semi casual shoes for men. Cole Hann is pricey but the comfort is amazing, my FI and both my parents swear by the Nike Air technology in their shoes.
Good luck with your FI, I think I'm just going to buy my FI Nike 1 strap sandals as a training pair and force him to wear them in the house, I don't think I will ever get him wearing a thong though.
  • haha allakarasik- I think we are marrying long lost brothers.

The ONLY sandals my FI will wear are those hideous Teva like sater sandals.

I think I'm going to get him some this summer to try out, good thinking!

I agree about the "let him wear what he wants" cause I KNOW my FI will want something that I'm not crazy about. Like you said, it is his wedding too...

    Silly men!
  • Mine too. He's wearing a suit and was appalled at the idea of not wearing dress shoes with it. We found a pair of brown Clarks that are dressy but still on the casual side....if that makes sense.
  • haha.. i feel like u guys r talking bout my FI. he refuses to wear sandals of any kind. for our last vacation i tried to get him to wear his sandals and he only wore them with socks, yea hes a dork. lol
he wanted  tux also, but i had his best man convince him linen suits would be better for them, and i think he might do some sort of sneaker (hoping for chucks but hell probably do the air forces.)

i know how u feel. Good luck!
  • Yea, mine hates sandals, but loves his Keens, so the next pair will probably need to be brown so they go with his suit.
