Candle lighter ages

I need to have a couple candle lighters for my ceremony....however, I do not have any preteen age ppl that I am close enough with to ask to be in the wedding.  I do have a couple of friends that I want to ask, but they are both 24.  Do you think that this is too old for a candle lighter, or does it really matter.  I have quite a few close girl friends, but could not have all of them as bridesmaids.  Is having a candle lighter that is in their mid 20's tacky or would it be ok???  Thanks for your opinions :)

I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and they had two 30 year olds as candle lighters. I didn't think anything of it. I think it would be fine :)

I don't think the age matters. A friend of mine got married last year and they had their mothers act as candle lights for the candles down the aisle as well as their unity candle. Everyone just thought it was a sweet touch. =]

I have 2 friends my age doing it, and also 2 "junior" candle lighters who are 5!I've seen people of all ages do it!
