Let me state that what I find sad...its that people are letting things like this bother them to such an extent that its turning into essentailly, a fight.Naturally not everyone will agree..and yes some of the disagreeing on here is what keeps this place interesting. For me personally, I can't stand it when it turns downright mean. Its just not necessary.
Where was someone mean? well, maybe foolforfood got a little hot under the collar, but other than that, I didn't see anyone call someone a diick, or anything.

So you do think it's completely normal then? YOu didn't answer my question and just beat around the bush. I'm honestly asking because I don't see it normal at all. And once again because this is hard to do over the internet, I'm not trying to attack you at all. I just was honestly wondering. And if people have told you that so many times that you could be rich, why not take the hint? It's just weird.

For fear that this is slowly becoming a P&E post, I will just post 1 more response and leave it at that. As far as the photographers, they are giving a portait package. If you are reaching that it can only be used for epics, bpics, or TTD, you are being nitpicky and a drama queen. Yes, portrait pics encompass a whole bunch of things. However, from what I remember, those photogs specialize in wedding photography. Most photogs jump at the opportunity to do family portrait sessions because it's a quick and easy way promote their wedding packages. Lastly, there are very, very few rules on TK. It's a free for all (go to P&E and see what crap happens there). The rule against vendor advisements is not subject to gray areas. I'm not the only one who views the GTG posts as vendor advertisements. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Nonetheless, I really applaud your efforts and I sincerely hope you make a killing at your auction.
oh i wasn't saying that people have told ME specifically - people tell anyone married over (insert amount of time deemed too long) months, they are told that they are not normal, weird, bored, idiotic, etc.answering you specifically: i like weddings. a lot. I liked mine, I like other peoples, I like message boards. I like to see pictures, I like to tell people they look nice, I like to hear about menus. I like to recommend people I like (my florist, my make up girl but I haven't done that in a while). Accordingly, if I don't like something, I like to say I don't like it! I pop over every once in a while to lurk, maybe to post about a like or dislike. maybe to shoot the breeze.

personally, i try to keep my comments to the issues at hand. while i didnt agree with her, val and i had a perfectly civil back and forth. i don't really see where it got nasty as far as personal attacks or anything.i think people have to keep in mind that it's a freaking internet message board! chances are, you will not meet your future BFFs here. sure, its happened for some. but take everything here with a grain of salt. it's not THAT serious!

Exactly. Seems like with this topic especially people are taking it very seriously. Hence the mutiple posts about it.
It gets serious/personal when you start making false accusations of someone and jump to conclusions about their intentions. I get perception, but to accuse that this was done with malicious vendor intent is effed up. I hope you are proud of yourselves.
I missed all the drama today but here's my two cents - I don't see the difference between BP overposting and looking at the message board and seeing three posts all in a row from different people asking for photographer advice - and the same people responding to all 3 different posts.Is it excessive and annoying? Yes. But you can clearly see the topics - I just click on the ones I'll find interesting/pertaining to me.
