    Lol, we spent almost didly squat on his plain gold band (that's what he wanted. He's not a big jewelry person - not even watches.) cause he wanted to make sure that we had enough to pay for my eternity band. YAY, love my baby!

    Romes ring was $850, there is no way I would even LET him rock a 30.00 ring when my ring price was up the wahzoo!

    It's funny you should bring this up.  I was just thinking about this today.  We haven't bought our ring yet, but we may be the couple that y'all talk about, b/c when I read the post about getting the ring out of a cracker jack box, I thought.."now, there's an idea"  We don't have much money...the wedding costs are kicking my butt as it is!  I figure we can always upgrade later.  My FI doesn't wear any jewelry at all.  I'm afraid that if I spend a lot of money, he may lose it.  And guess what he just said when I asked him about it..."I don't care if you spend $5.  I probably will just lose it anyways."  See what I mean.

    I knew J would want bling, he has a big blinged out bracelet, so I knew I couldn't half step with his ring, and he didnt half step with my 2.5 carats. His jeweler that did my e-ring is giving me a great deal on his blinged out ring, it will cost about 1k. Which is what my spending limit is:) I am also getting him a titanium "work" ring, because he works with Metal in a warehouse all day, and if homeboy mess up the 1k ring, oh I am going straight hood on him.lol

    I'm at this stage of my wedding planning as well. I let him pick out what he wanted. Not to mention that he is not a jewerly wearing type of guy. I was shocked when he went and picked out a simple $300.00 ring.  I thought he wanted something to match mine. He wants to get use to wearing a ring for awhile and later wants me to upgrade him. I can handle that with no problem.

    FI's ring is about $600, give or take. He wears a Tungsten one for everyday but he's going to get a platinum one next year. He wants it real simple. No bling, no fuss.
