As for DJ's, we're doing our own music so I don't know much about this, but my brother recently got married and they used DJ Scout (& his associate) but I don't really have info on him (you can definitely get good info at the bridal shows, have you gone to any?)
Favours - We're actually making a donation instead, I just didn't want to waste money or time and this way we're supporting a local charity too!
Invitations - We got a DIY kit from Michael's and we'll either print them ourselves or take them to a printer, one way or the other I figure it's less than getting them done.
Have you chosen/booked anyone else? What about flowers, cake....

I'm in Sussex! We're getting married July 9, 2011.
Lockhart's in Sussex is a very popular wedding boutique. They have people come from all over NB and there were two people in there from PEI last Saturday when we were looking at bridesmaid dresses.
I'm really struggling with bridesmaid colours....
Becky & DH
Dx with Azoospermia Dec 2011
Seeing RE, waiting for genetic test results before seeing urologist. Hormone panel showed low T, high FSH/LH.
Struggling daily with the unknowns.
I had figured I'd be going to Lockharts's since that's the place you hear the most of in this area but I really lucked into finding mine in Moncton.
As for colours...what are your favorite colours? Are there any colours that you've pictured in your wedding yet? (I've always known I would use some shade of purple)

I'm in Sackville,NB so if you ladies ever want to come down my way, (I'm at the university) me and my finance are very young and WOULD love to bounce ideas off of people
I'm originally from Nova Scotia (valley girl!) but am in Sackville for university
bensprincessjess - We actually don't have a car, so I'm never down there, but you can feel free to ask any questions you'd like, I'd be more than happy to help in anyway I can!

We booked our DJ and photographer(s) in one stop StudioGraph out of Moncton. Pretty reasonable rates and Mark (AKA DJ Bone is super fun. He does the Indy pop night throughout the maritimes.
Hopefully this week we will get out for a photo session (engagement though it's been over a year), just in time for Christmas! Any suggestions on what to wear, makeup, shots we should do would be appriciated!
Also any siggestions on where to get shoes? I have tiny feet (size 5) so it's always a challange. I might just special order from ESTY...
Hey ladies! Just wanted to recommend a DJ to anyone in NB:
DJ Jay LaKing from St. Stephen. He'll travel around the province and he's great! Really friendly and great music. PM me if you'd like his contact info!!

As for your e-pics...since it's close to Christmas I think wearing red would be nice. Or nice fall colors, brown, dark orange, something like that. I guess that depends on your coloring, just wear a colour that looks nice on you. If you wear your fav colour or sweater, you'll be more comfortable.
We didn't get e-pics done, so I'm not really sure what to suggest for poses, it would depend on where you get them done, but if your photographer is any good they'll know what will work best.

I just got engaged before Christmas and I am located in PEI. I'm originally from Halifax and have only been on the island for 3 years. I plan on having a private ceremony and a small reception afterwards for family and friends. If anyone has any recommendations for locations in PEI I would appreciate it!

Living in Vancouver right now, but was born and am getting married in Moncton. I'm lucky enough that I'm just going to pop over to Seattle to go to David's Bridal, has anyone been there? It's so hard planning a Moncton wedding from far away, the city doesn't really have the feel that I'm going for, but there's so many people I want to share my special day, and they are all in NB!
Has anyone heard of Crandalls Studio? Are they a good photographer?

Be careful if you're dealing with Chantal. We paid up front and had our wedding in October of 2010. It was almost Christmas before we received a single photo so that we could send it out with our Thank You cards, and we still haven't received the photo album with the remainder of the photographs. My wife has been contacting them fairly frequently throughout the wait and she's always been told that things will be ready soon, although things never manage to come together. Recently the phone number got disconnected, so we're wondering now if we'll ever get our wedding photos. Given that the contract stated we'd get everything months ago it's just about time for small claims court, although I'd rather avoid that if possible. At the very least, don't pay until after you receive what you are promised.
I'm from Halifax!! I'm living in Japan right now but going home for a month in August to get married. I love seeing other Maritimers on this site! I was over on the Etiquette board and was getting a little freaked out over all the expectations and customs that I had no two clues about! I kinda feel that us maritimers are more down to earth and relaxed than some other places. For example, I`ve found people are super touchy about open bar vrs cash bar. Every wedding that I`ve been to has been cash bar and I had thought nothing of it! What do you think about that for around your area? What are some other things people (on here) seemed to think were a big deal but you wouldn't have thought twice about? I think I just need a little reassurance that people back home are as easy going as I remember!

I posted a question about this on the etiquette section. I am also in NS, and cash bars are the norm. Even tiered receptions (invite to the wedding and reception, not dinner) are common. I understand why people on this board think they are rude, but it is done here.
Hi! My FI and live in Calgary and will be getting married here Sept 2/2012. We are planning a smaller second wedding/reception in the Moncton area the following weekend since that is where my FI is from. Unfortunately I have never even been to New Brunswick, so I'm planning blind here! We are also going to incorporate a short honeymoon in PEI since we'll been out there. If there are any brides that could give me advice as to venues, photographers, caterers, or anything really, I would greatly appreciate it!
