My DJ is doing this with his set-up. I have used two lighting companies before for events: Hollowood Music & Sound and JV Chujko, both excellent. HTH!

Whoo - Calm it down with the !!s. Scared me for a minute there. :P I don't know any lighting vendors. Hopefully someone else on the Board will. What did a Google search find you?

I'm planning to have someone do lighting for my wedding. I've used Andy Schick for events before and really, really like him:http://www.adslighting.com/home

La Femme, I used ADS. They come highly recommended and Andy is super nice (I've seen him at other events that I have done). I just wanted you to be aware of this review however (I posted on our "beware vendors" page)Andy was a very nice vendor and very reasonably priced. However, my GOBO, which I was really looking forward to, burnt out in the time between when he set it up and when my reception started. He did not charge me, which was very nice of him. He also stated that he's never had a GOBO burn through on him before. I can't help but wonder if it was due to the complexity of the design, as there were lots of thin cut-outs, etc. There are only two lighting companies in town that do GOBO's, so I would still attempt to go with Andy, but I wanted other Knotties to be aware that, at least in this case, the lighting did not work.(He told me it would be just fine the traditional way despite the complexity. I should have insisted that he do my design on glass given the complexity. So go with your gut and be very specific with him).

Oh, also, Andy was really hard to get in touch with the week of my wedding. My day-of coordinator was growing really frustrated with him and his lack of response. After the wedding, I had to email him to find out about why the light didn't work. I think he should have been proactive in contacting me, IMO. That was just my experience though, and he has a great reputation.

Kwynn, thanks for posting that, I appreciate it. Like you said, he has a great reputation, but I haven't used him myself in several years. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience :(

Awesome recommendation! I'm looking for something similar to do my event in Erie, PA. It dresses up the whole room! Are you doing a GOBO as well? This guy is nationwide, and if nothing else, you can get ideas off of his previous project pictures: http://www.thelightingguy.net/
