Help me choose a photographer....Pics inside!

I'm getting very irritated, I cannot find a photographer that is up to par. I live in Milwaukee, WI, so its really hard to find a photographer that's affordable and willing to travel to our ceremony location. I have found one photographer he's very popular here. Many model wannabes work with him. His wedding portfolio is very limited. His rates really good, though! I would receive two photographers for 6 hours and retouched images. For $800! He doesn’t give images on a disc, and chooses which images he likes best! He was very nice, and gives tons of prints.  I want my photo's to be stunning, I’m not confident that my wedding photos will look as great as his model pictures.  Question? Here are some images, please compare and let me know if you think his wedding images are equal to his modeling images. (Based on quality) My photography budget is $1,500. Should I look for better?

His model pix are good.  I caution you using someone that doesn't normally do weddings though.  The reason is they may not have developed the eye (or experience) for catching those one-of-a-kind moments like your grandma crying, the groom's expression as he sees you for the first time, etc. I say if you have doubts...keep looking.  You'll know when you've found your photog.Cicy

honest, honest with a pink tug; ok here goes - his wedding photo is not up to par with his model photos; well I love his model photo session pics, the wedding photo looks cheesy...I agree with mycicy on this one, he & his assistant may not have the experienced eye to capture those special moments that happen during a ceremony & reception...have you asked your local board for photog recs???

I agree check with your local board, his wedding port. is limited for a reason and if you dont have to do you want him to practice on your wedding (especially if you dont have to)  I would need to see more wedding pics, but that example that he gave is kind of cheesy looking, although the price is not bad.I would continue to research before making your decision to go with him.  GL

Hey Miss Lady!Well, I checked out the pics you posted and i'm not impressed with the photographer. Your wedding day is supposed to be AMAZING, and pictures are worth 1,000 words. So I think you should keep on looking. If you feel 150% that he'll capture the true beauty of your wedding, then go for it. But if there's a single doubt in your mind, then keep it movin'. You'll know when you found the right photographer, and he might just be out of state.
