Seating Cards

As I was flipping through an Oriental Trading catalog, I saw these drink tags that are designed like toe tags. I thought it would be fun to make up a set of my own with yard sale tags to use for the seating cards, what with it being Halloween and all.My aunt (dad's sister) and FI's family think that it's pretty much the most awesome idea ever. My mom and dad think that it's unspeakably offensive. Do you think I would offend guests if their seating card is a "toe tag"? Would YOU be offended?

I saw those online and showed them to the Mr. and he thought they were great. We're not doing them but it is a great idea.

FMIL decided she's pulling the "we're contributing more to this wedding" card and that my parents will just have to deal with it. I'm probably not going to put "name of deceased" on it, just name, table number and then fancy it up.

That is a great idea! I am jealous that I didn't see them. We are doing boring tents. And I agree, I would skip writing "Name of Deceased", it is slightly morbid. But, no, I would not be offended. You could soften the look by embellishing them slightly. Good luck!

I like those! But it looks like you have to buy the whole case. I don't know what I would do with 360 tombstone place cards.

I think those ideas are great! I definitely don't have the guts to do it, but props to you guys! I'll probably just do black ones printed with silver ink and maybe embellished with black lace. I know, I'm boring, but I might be going with a more elegant, victorian, gothic theme. Time will only tell.....
