Since we are all from all over the country, I was curious, what is the best burger place in your area? I rarely eat red meat, but for some reason with the 4th of July tomorrow, I am craving a burger!
I live in CA, so I have to go with In-N-out!
I've had steak and shake before when I visited Indiana and that place was heaven (and a heart attack)
Re: Best Burger Place in Your Neck of the Woods!
Best burger place in my area is impossible to say. Shake Shack is amazing. So's Burger Joint (in the Parker Meridien). I cannot choose between those two.
Non-chain for burgers? Honestly, I can't say I've found one that's worth mentioning. Pizza on the other hand.......
In my local area (burbs of Philly) We have a few awesome local places. Charlies has amazing burgers and right behind it is a hotdog stand called The Last Stand that is amazing. We also have a place called Zachs which is a local chain is very yummy!
LVISSERS WHEN DID YOU COME TO INDIANA AND WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE HERE!!!

mmmmmm yes! See, impossible question for me to answer.
Oh my I could talk about this place forever it is really THAT good!

I am drooling.
[QUOTE]Ooooo also Peter Luger's. It's a mafia-style steak house but they have burgers during the day only and they are AMAZING. I<strong> think they cook them with a block of butter on top of them (like their steaks).</strong> I am drooling.

Oh god another way for me to get fat. I'm going to have to try this...
[QUOTE]Okay so I'm completely way South from all of you! Down here in our "neck of the woods" the best place to get a burger is MugShots. It's a super thick burger on an amazing sourdough bun. They have all kinds of burgers. Even a peanut butter burger (jelly is optional). It's amazing.

</div><div>The cherry cricket in Denver does Peanut Butter burgers too! When Man vs Food went there he got the goober burger. Peanut butter and a fried egg on a burger. That's actually taking it a bit too far IMO...

[QUOTE]Ok, don't hate me, girls, but I don't even think 5 guys is that great. I know everyone and their mother loves it, but in-n-out is like 10 times better.

I actually totally agree. I don't like Five Guys THAT much. Meagan, I think you'd love Shake Shack. Very similar burger to In-n-Out although I guess not totally because it doesn't have the same sauce. It does have awesome "Shack sauce" though: <a href="http://www.shakeshack.com/food-and-drink/" rel="nofollow">http://www.shakeshack.com/food-and-drink/</a>
ps - Colleen, omg they have a Shake Shack in Philly now?!??!??!!! 20th and Sansom it looks like. Just opened in June 2012.

<div>I need to try! </div><div>

I wasn't going to say anything when people started saying 5 guys but now that you have I'll chime in. I actually think the place has the worst burgers I've ever had. They use Kraft singles for petes sake. And the bun has to have come from Costco or something. They taste like my moms burgers and my mom makes terrible burgers (sorry mom).

Haha that's one of Fi's favorite things about going to Indiana...Steak N Shake! Last time we hit it on the way to my parents from the airport...
Around here, I don't really know. There is a place called Brew City in Worcester, MA that is extremely good! However, my go-to when I want a burger is usually Red Robin, but I think that's nation wide lol There is a place called Denny's Beer Barrel & Pub in Clearfield, PA that is a MUST when we are traveling to/from Indiana...does that count? lol
[QUOTE]London burgers suck major donkey balls. The only good ones we've really found are Byron.

</div><div>I imagine London kinda sucks on the food side of things. What's good there? Fish and chips? Curry?

<div>BRITISH food (IMO) is pretty crappy. But there is amazing food in London. Curries are generally good. Gourmet food is good. Street food is amazing. This sounds weird, but UK grocery stores are sooooooo good! Everything is fresh. There is very little pre-packaged or processed foods, which is fine by me. We also live a five minute walk from one of the best fresh food markets in the world, so we are totally spoiled. We literally go every Saturday morning as part of our weekend routine. I think that is what I'll miss most about London.</div><div>

Oh it was a few years ago! Don't worry, of course I would have told you!!! My ex was from IN, so we went back to visit his family once. Fort Wayne, IN, super small and country. Loved Indianapolis though!
