MOB dress - best stores?

Where did your moms get their dresses? My mom is a petite but plus-sized woman who doesn't always enjoy shopping since she has a hard time finding flattering formalwear :( Any recommendations for good stores to check out? Dugo won for Best MOB apparel but does anyone know if they have plus sizes as well..?

My mom and dad loved the wedding shoppe.  So much so my dad went out and bought all the consultants doughnuts.  My mom is plus sized and tall and she thought the service is great!

My mom got her dress at Macy's (Maplewood location).  She didn't want a stiff suit type dress, but rather something more flowing and re-usable.

Get social by Glitz at the MOA was great.  My mom ended up purchasing at Bloomingtondale's.

My mom got some of her MOB wedding ensemble at the Dress Barn, and I got my E-pic clothing there. They have lots of really nice dresses in all sizes. The store near me in Blaine has one half of the store devoted to plus size, so it might be just the thing for her.

My mom bought her dress at Nordstrom in MOA. I am actually really impressed with how big of a formal/semi-formal dress selection they have.

My mom is also plus size and has problems finding flattering dresses. She had huge success at Herbergers and actually found two dresses and had problems picking one! Check out her dress in my bio.

I agree with Nordstrom, they have a great dept for plus-sizes. One of my mom's best friends from back home (Puerto Rico) who is plus-sized always makes it a point to stop there any time she visits (and spends a loooooong time there, leading to her spending a whole bunch of $$$), and always raves about the service she gets.

Also, another option is the Dress Maker in Edina, they custom-made my mom's dress based on some pictures from magazines she brought in, and at a fraction of the cost that it would have been had she bought the same sort of dress off-the-rack.

A third vote for Nordstroms here.  My mom is petite and plus sized as well and found two great dresses for my wedding and my sister's there. She got free alterations too!

If your mom is willing to try a little avant garde, unique stuff, I would recommend Whimsy at the Galleria in Edina. My mom and I hunted at a ton of stores, to no avail. She's not officially plus-sized, but having 3 kids took a very permanent toll on her and she's really self-conscious about her stomach.... so a lot of the traditional MOB dresses are just too stiff and revealing for her. So yeah, we found her dress within 5 minutes in Whimsy. Her dress got rave reviews from a ton of guests, and you could tell she felt like a million bucks.

Here's a pic of my parents at the reception:

I would definitely suggest Von Maur at the EP mall.  Thats where my mom got her dress, and she is a VERY picky shopper!
