Brag to me.

Re: Brag to me.

  • Nebb, it was freaking amazing. The best concert I've ever been to, and not just cause he's a Beatle. What a great entertainer. I cried like a baby.

  • My shower is tommorow.  Yea!!
  • I'm awesome because I'm a super fast reader. For example, I read each Twilight/Harry Potter in one day (I only mention those because a couple are super huge.). It really really comes in handy when I'm trying to get through a million pages of textbooks. I'm also awesome because I'm about the only one who can calm FI down when he gets super angry about something. For some reason, people like his mom and friends just keep antagonizing him. I can just calm him down really quickly.

  • Fish, you're from Fargo? That's where my FI is from. Yeah, I'm from Colorado, but was thanking my lucky stars that I was living in Boston when Paul decided to do a limited tour in MA and NY.

  • Yes, Mam! Ever make it back to the tundra?

  • Salty, also try working with a larger needle too - when I first started, I was trying to work these little tiny crochet hooks and it's just frustrating. The thread was too tight for me to put the hook through and it just came out looking like a hot mess. Try the spoon method - so much easier for me. :) It's worth it to figure it out - every Christmas, I make about 12 new dishcloths to use throughout the year (and throw out the old ones). It's nice to have dishcloths you can just throw in the washer/dryer - even if you only use them to scrub the counters with.

  • We went last summer so I could meet his family, so no tundra (well, maybe underneath the ground somewhere). It was... vast and green. Nice people! Fargo airport was terrifying to fly into though, sorry!

  • Julez, I am missing the "organizer" function in my brain. I look at something and think, "Damn, I wish this was organized." And I want it to be organized, but I get overwhelmed and don't know HOW to organize things. I'm good with notebooks, anything I can put in drawers, or cabinets, but I wish I could be more Martha Stewart-y with the skills.

  • Ha ha, I think the smallness was a big part of it... I have a hard time with small planes, and I don't think big ones fly into there. I could be wrong. Thanks for the future beer... if you're ever out in Boston, I'll buy you a beah. ;)

  • Bring it. I could use a drink right about now.

  • There was some girl that posted here that she put up an ad on Craigslist to go organize people's offices. And I've thought many times that I wish I could be an organizer for a living. My next best bet would be some kind of event planner. That's what I'm going to try for when I graduate. Communications would work...right? Right? Crap...

  • Julez, I would def hire you. :) God, the inside perimeter of my garage needs some attention - it doesn't look bad, but I need to figure out what to do with all the CRAP I've been saving from school for the last few years. Some of it I probably won't ever use, but I worked so hard on it, I feel like I should hang on to it for a while. I'm wondering if most teachers keep all the things they worked on in school (all the lesson plans, portfolios for remediation, etc, all the textbooks and reference books) or if they just get rid of it all. Who has the room for all of that?

  • I would be game...but you posted in a poll awhile back about what you thought of the days being shorter. You said that it meant there would be snow on the ground in 30 days. That had to at least been a week ago, if not more. I'm not game for snow in 3 weeks...

  • I'm much better about throwing things away now. With 2 people in a 1 bedroom in NYC there's just no room for me to keep every freakin' hallmark card someone has sent me in my life. No matter how well organized they are. Sometimes you just have to look at stuff and think about when the last time was that you used it. Have you come out to the garage to look at old lesson plans anytime in the last couple years? If not, you probably never will.
  • I'm awesome because I own my own company (even though due to the economy I can't afford to do just that yet). I'm incredibly artistic and I have 2 rescued greyhounds. FI thinks I'm awesome because I have a great personality and huge boobies.

  • Julez, that's a good little rule of thumb to remember. My problem is that I haven't started teaching yet, so I'm worried all of it MIGHT come in handy one day. Plus, I'm a huge loser and I NEVER get rid of books. I do find myself referencing a lot of my books, but I know that there's so much research left to be done in deaf ed that my books will probably be outdated and irrelevant in 2 years or less. Yep, time to put it all in the circular file.

  • i'm awesome because i just helped the economy by spending a bunch of money by etsy.
  • lol thanks fische. I do event planning. Mainly corporate events, but I've done other kinds as well. Yet I'm more indecisive about my wedding decisions than every other event I've planned combined.

  • Siobhan - I'm a super decisive shopper but I've second guessed everything I've bought for the wedding or ended up buying something different later on. It's real annoying.
  • Julez- For me I think it's because I'm so worried about it being "perfect". FI always snaps me back to reality, but I stress myself out more then I should. In 10 years nobody is going to care or remember what flowers I used or the table linen material. Only that we are married and happy as hell.
