NWR: A-Fest

Are any of you familar with Anime or the A-Fest that is this weekend?  My daughter wants to go but I am not sure if it's mostly adults, teenagers or what.  I am not letting her go without adult supervision but I think some of the kids are and she may try to talk me into it so I'd like to be prepared.  Just wondering if anyone on her knew anything about it.

I'll ask my husband about it when he gets home - he used to be into anime and usually knows about related conventions. Send me an email as a reminder and I'll write back what he says. Alana dot finley at gmail dot com. How old is your daughter? When I was 12 or 13 I went to an X-Files convention with a friend. I don't think there was too much to be concerned with about safety as long as the location is controlled in terms of entrance/exit points. If they require admission tickets, that's a good indication of monitoring.

Thanks ya'll.  I got on the website last night and it looks like it's geared mostly for kids.  There's a big group of them going so I'm feeling like it will be OK.

Hey stephie I asked my friend if there were a lot of kids going and she said yes all anime conventions are family friendly BUT there is a "rule" about underaged teens going alone.http://www.animefest.org/FAQ.php4Just wanted to share :)

Thanks, yeah I saw that--but they are all just literally months away from being 16.  And they are all good kids so hopefully there will be no problems.  Once I saw the website, I felt a little better.  It seems geared for kids mostly.
