Where to find a budget wedding cake in north OC?

I am looking for a cake for around 150 guest on a very tight budget.  Does anyone know of a bakery that is reasonably priced, or possibly someone who works out of their home.  Please help.  My wedding date is coming quickly and I am unable to find a cake I can afford.  Thanks Brides.

A friend made mine. Lots of girls have used Wal-Mart and had a good experience.

Have you thought about faking it.  I have read about this trend catching on. Make the top layer (for your keepsake) and bottom layer (for pics) real and the other 2 (assuming you want 4 tiers) would be fake.  Buy a sheet cake and have it cut in the back and serve it to your guests.

What about going with a different dessert you can afford or going with a dessert buffet instead with only a small cake?  There's nothing that says you can't just have the dessert that your caterer would normally provide with the meal instead of getting a cake.  It's something to consider.  Also, the problem may also be in how you're approaching bakers on "I can't find anything I can afford", every bride out there is "on a tight budget" but bakers are not psychics, they don't know what your definition of "tight budget" is unless you TELL THEM, they've had brides with $100,000 weddings tell them they're on a "tight budget", you've got to give them a number...  If you want cheap cake, go preorder some Pepperidge farm cakes from the freezer section at the grocery store.  If you want something more fancy, then you're going to have to readjust your budget.  Work WITH your baker to design a cake to feed your expected number of guests given your realistic budget.  You can't expect you're going to get a designer cake for less than Walmart charges for the same portion.  Also, your design is the quickest way to increase the cost of your cake, again, work WITH your baker to design something in your budget.
