Good Morning!

I slept like crap, and really don't want to work or go to class tonight.

FI and I discussed buying a house this weekend, and renting a room (or both) out....so I think that's stressing me out...

I think I need to wait to start pre-approval stuff until after April 28th (aka the end of the semester)

In better news my weekend was very productive
I threw an awesome little dinner thing for my dads birthday last night.

Veggie lasagna was a hit!

Morning.

I was up late last night (dork alert) watching X-files last night with DH. We started watching the show in the summer and we did really good until David Ducoveny left the show after season 7, so we've been slow watching season 8. We decided to try to finish the show and start Lost or something else. We've got 3 left in season 8 and then season 9 and the movie. I think we'll have some late nights this week so we can finish.

Good morning. I had such a productive weekend, probably because my FI wasn't around. I made 16 dozen cookies for our cookie table and plan to make more next week. I cannot wait for this warm weather. I might go for a walk at lunch.

We went to Ikea yesterday (the one in Baltimore) and I helped my little sister pick out new furniture for her bedroom. In the process, I picked out two new nightstands, two new dressers, a mirror and two lamps for our room. ::sheepish grin:: I just have to wait till FI can go back with me to approve them. (The hemnes collection, if anyone wondered- 6 drawer tall chest, 8 drawer long dresser, long mirror, and 2 drawer nightstands)

I got that jogging stroller this weekend too! I thought it was one model because I had looked at so many, I forgot that this one was the $300 model. I got it for 80 bucks! The wife had only used it a few times, (the little nubbies were still on the tires!) and she just had another baby so they had to upgrade to a double jogging stroller! So excited. I used it yesterday, and DD loved it.

Although, Amy's cookies that she made sound sooo good right now...

Morning! I tried to check in a little bit while we were away, but I didn't want to use up all of my mom's minutes on her netbook, so not as much as I wanted.

I had a lot of fun! But I have to tell ya... I don't like driving the PA turnpike. For one, it's boring. For two, there are a LOT of 18-wheelers. And on our way home, we saw a nasty accident with a camper UPSIDE DOWN. And we slowed down for about a minute, and then kept going. If that happened on 95, it would have taken me 8 hours to go 4 hours.

Good morning. I started the day with my contact bugging me and when I was at the end of my street I realized I must have popped a button on my shirt so I had to go back and change. My contact is stil irritating me which is making me feel annoyed! Can't wait until today is over. This week is going to be so busy.

RA- Glad you made it home safe! I had an 18 wheeler incident on the way home on the TP- I was passing a lowboy and I was about halfway up the truck when he turned his blinker on and just started coming over at me! Thankfully, there was a wide shoulder, or I wouldn't be typing this right now... I laid on my horn, and he flicked me off. For real? Grr.

I know Ikea isn't known for its durability, but i bought a big Hemnes dresser from Ikea less than 2 years ago. I had to replace this weekend with a slightly better quality one from Ashley Furniture b/c the bottoms of all the drawers keep falling out. I know that Ikea isn't really made to last forever, but Im pretty pissed it lasted only a year and half

Good morning! Amy, that is a LOT of cookies. Sounds great though. This weekend flew by. I had a bridal shower (3 hours away) on Saturday, so that was my entire day on Saturday. Then Sunday I just cleaned/organized. Nothing exciting, but it was nice to get stuff done.

I've heard that about some of their stuff, but I currently have a bed from them that I've had for 10 years and it's still holding up strong. Same with the hutch holding my tv/ton of extra crap and my scrapbooking desk. Now, the bookshelves are another story... :/

We're kinda looking at temporary furniture that matches until we buy a house- We'll be moving 2x between now and then, and would rather not risk damaging good stuff, kwim? I'm just tired of wood & wrought iron mixed. :)

Thank you, though! Maybe I'll rethink the Hemnes... or re-vamp the construction of it while building it. (I'm a huuuge fan of liquid nails...)

Good morning!

We have a settlement date!!! May 26!!! Hopefully movers can move us the 28th...

The house now has plumbing and all the electrical stuff. And our rock for the front of the house was in the driveway! So drywall should start this week and the rock/siding! Eek!

Paprika - haha uhhh I think I have both dressers from Ikea... LOVE THEM. What color are you getting? I have the black/brown. Can't wait to get my bed! We have a long list to get at Ikea after settlement. I love that place.

Ladybug - I've had mine for a year and a half and it's going strong. We'll see how it is after being moved...

The problem seems to be the weight of the clothes is bending the partical board bottom and making it fall out. It could be b/c I have way too much stuff crammed in the drawers and thats weighing it down. It sucks b/c I really liked the look of the dresser, much better than the one I just bought.

Mana- we're getting the black/brown too to match the iron bed. If you want company, I'll be more than happy to help you shop:) And move/paint/decorate.

Speaking of decorating, check out Amer's blog. I just happened to have some extra time Saturday morning and read through it, and the woman can decorate! I love most of the things she's done!

Ladybug- I could see how that would happen. I cram a lot in mine too. I might just reinforce the drawers when we get it then. Thank you for the heads up!

Amer - Haha VERY SOON! Now to get the 1 million piece of paper the mortgage people want. Friday, I quick printed out my pay statements in case the gov't shut down and I wouldn't be able to get onto that website. Good times...

Ladybug - I haven't over stuffed them so maybe that's why they are holding up. For now, it's the only furniture I can afford and it look decent. The list we need for the house is like kitchen table etc. I was worried about the bed holding up since my FI thinks he's a "big ol' boy" but many knotties had Ikea beds that lasted.

Paprika - SAME! I've put together so many Ikea furnitures i'm a pro if you guys need help. You'll probably be more helpful then J is when I make him go to Ikea... he really doesn't care unless it involves the man caves (basement and garage). I've checked out Amer's blog a few times, it's AWESOME! I can't wait to move in and eventually start decorating rooms. Painting will be involved since everything will be an off white... and I like some pop of color!
