Hi! I like cake. But I'm not as big a fan of frosting. I actually don't like cake balls very much because all I can taste is the frosting.

I do have a totally off-topic question though. What kind of dip is good with veggies? Like with cucumbers and baby carrots?

ETA: carrots, not caroits ;P It's REALLY hard to type with a bandaid on my index finger.

Sorry Dancer, I have yet to find a veggie dip that doesn't make me cringe. Unless cheese fondue qualifies in which case I vote for that.

That's a great surprise. =) Just make sure they get to the venue! We forgot ours in the hotel mini fridge and had to send someone to get them during the reception.

Ranch dip is the bomb. Good Seasons Italian dressing packet mixed with sour cream and a bit of mayo is also quite tasty for veggies.

There is a yum cucumber yogurt dip that is good with veggies, too. Ranch is agreed. I love white cake, but associate it with weddings. FI doesn't like white cake, then loved the sample so we will have wedding white...and red velvet...and orange dreamsicle. I am helping my Grandmother make carrot cake for my dad's birthday Saturday. I like strawberry and yellow and cherry and funfetti, too. And chocolate, of course. I am sure that I just like cake. Except peanut butter.

This is the cake I always make for FI's birthday. So as not to depreciate the sentiment, I don't make it any other time. Five years into this tradition, he asks "why don't you make it with my favorite...vanilla icing?" Go figure. At least now I know I can make this one any old time now.

I am shocked that no one has mentioned the truly best cake, red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Why eat anything else?

Also, I am definitely a lurker, even a "double" lurker since I read the most ridiculous posts/questions/responses aloud to my fiance. I don't look at The Nest very often, but I love when one of you links to a particularly nutty thread there. I should/will post more, since I definitely fall on the sarcastic/snarky side of brides.

Also, what is everyone's favorite beer? I am a beer snob/homebrewer, so this is a very telling question for me. If you aren't a beer drinker, tell me what you do like to drink, and I will suggest one you will probably find tasty.

I do not like 99% of all beer. Just doesn't float my boat. I'm generally not a drinker at all anyway. I'd just rather have a good rootbeer or well done punch. The only beer I've ever enjoyed at all is IPA.

Abbie I'm a red velvet fan, even tried a truly homemade one for my brother once! I am not a beer fan. FI had one with lime tonight, he was impressed (he is a minimal drinker). I did have a peach one I was ok with at a local brewery once. I prefer wine, or mixed drinks. I'm more of a gin and tonic or dry martini type, I'm enjoying a whiskey sour right now.

The problem with everyone 'abandoning' TK is that we are still giving them hits on the site. Unless we do it all the way, it won't make a difference. And I'm not sure I see that happening. And yeah, I don't think they really want regs here. I'm eye to eye with you on that one. I like the proboards though. I just know I'll miss the randomness of TK if we all abandon completely.
