Ceremony and reception venue...Please help!!!

Okay so I am having the hardest time finding a ceremony and reception venue! I'm on a tight budget of about 5000 for the 2 and I can't find anything. I know I'm probably being too picky, but I want a nice elegant and classy wedding. I was hoping to have the ceremony outside and reception inside or under a tent since my wedding is oct 1. Everywhere is just ridiculously expensive. If any of you have some suggestions of cheaper or unique places please let me know!

    What all is the $5000 supposed to cover?  Also, just an FYI, tented receptions can get OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive, more so than just renting a venue - because you'll have to provide everything yourself - meaning you'll have to rent the tent, table, chairs, linens, plates, flatware, and glassware.And in October, I'd be really worried about weather and a tent.  Guests don't want to be traipsing about in mud beneath your tent.

    Have you checked out the Manor House in Mason? I have no idea what prices are like, but you can do an outdoor/indoor combo there.  Most country clubs offer that as well, but again for that price you might need a very small guest list.A friend of mine had a very small, no frills ceremony at a park. Everyone stood and watched, no music, no decor. We then all traveled to their indoor reception.  There were probably 80 people total, but it was very pretty.

    It's for 130 guests in cincinnati. The $5000 needs to cover the reception and ceremony rental fees and catering. I'm hoping to find something for an indoor/outdoor thing but everywhere I look is too expensive.

    Check Walden Ponds Golf Course.  I haven't been there but the online photos look lovely.  They have an outdoor ceremony area (with Gazebo) and a tent (with optional sides) already set up so you don't have to rent your own.  Tables, chairs and basic linens are included. You also get to use the inside of the mansion.  The rental fee is $1500 but you are able to get your own caterer so you could probably save some money there.  Definately check out the webistes, it looks really lovely.Golf Club Website:  http://www.waldenponds.com/view.asp?id=18&page=808&mainMenu=329Wedding Website:  http://waldenpondsweddingsandspecialeve.shutterfly.com/

    Are you getting married Oct 1 next year?? That is my date! We are not doing anything really traditional. We are getting married on Fri and having our reception on Sat for everyone to attend. Try Voice of America Park for Fri. They have gazeebo and lakeside lodge. I have it reserved on Oct 2 for my reception.

    Tori's station in fairfield. They have a few different rooms to choose from, and they have a gazebo outside with chairs included for a ceremony. Starts out at $22 a person for buffet on a friday, includes room rental, buffet, beer, wine, tables, linens, napkins, glassware, centerpieces...really a great deal!

    I had mine at lake lyndsay in the back building- called Kaylas Korner. It can definitely be done for 5k but you'd have to really budget yourself. My ceremony was outdoors and reception indoors...we had about 180 guests but it was a little tight so I think 130 would be a perfect number. www.lakelyndsay.com

    Check the Embassy Suites Rivercenter. It's a pretty good deal and includes a lot of stuff.

    Just a note on Cincy Parks-- YES, they're beautiful! We just got married at Alms Park a few weeks ago...but the costs add up! (eg. tent rental is 1200!) But, you could check into Maple Ridge Lodge. When we were looking into everything it was the most affordable of the parks locations. You have to pick from their caterers, but there are some affordable ones. And bonus, you can bring in your own alcohol--which can save you tons!! GL!

    Have you thought about Ault Park or the Observatory? I have visited several vunues and the cheapest one I have found is the Phoenix, which is downtown off of race and 9th. All of the other venues that I have visited are a minimum of $7 - $10k.Good Luck!Gina
