Re: i PICKED A THEME FINALLY

• Just one ? How long ago was your prom? It must be freshly in your past. Please tell me you are joking.
• How does anyone not know what a troll is in this day and age? I think I first heard the term when I was hanging out on various message boards in high school. Sarah - do you really, really, believe that she doesn't know what a troll is?

• I love squash.

• shouldn't the theme of your wedding be 'wedding'?  seriously, weddings don't need cheesy themes.  classy, elegant, simple are all you need.

• cute little baby squash
• I am 20 years old. The reason prom is freshly in my mind is because some friends came over and we were looking through old high school things, and came across the picture frames and programs and everything with the themes blasted all over them. And, no, I am not completley sure what a troll is....This is the first actual message board I've posted on. Sorry.
• ac_in_dc yes, thank you. I liked your ideas as well. You and Ricksang have been very helpful.
• I'd drop the whole "Starry night" thing. And just make your colors navy and silver. Much more grown up.
• Just in case she is real... which is pretty doubtful, I'll admit that I didn't know what a troll was until I came here. I really didn't post on any boards except a WOW forum now and then. Seriously sad, yes, but true.
• Sarah - do you really, really, believe that she doesn't know what a troll is?No, I don't believe that. That was my point. I mean, if nothing else, there is wikipedia to figure these things out.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
• I was thinking maybe the bridesmaids could be in like, navy sparkly dresses, like if anyone remembers on Project Runway one year, a guy did a skate leotard inspired by Starry Starry Night....that's the look I am picturing.Seriously? I'm a California girl through and through and even I don't write/type "like". Wedding themes should not be based on prom themes. Just, no.

• What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I think prom is freshly in your mind because it was only like 2 years ago.

• Oh, and the staged area for taking photos. Make everyone stand in prom pose?"
• For your first dance, make sure that you and your new hubs dance all awkwardly and far apart from one another like in Jr. High. That would be soooo cute!

• Really, Chelsea, Even if you are only 20, no one is that naive.  And if you want to know what a troll is, look it up on urbandictionary.com.

• ricks, I think you may be one of the nicest, most patient people I have ever run across.  Chelsea- why don't you see if that guy from Project Runway can just make the skate leotards for your BM's?  That'd be supersexyhot.

• I'll pass onto you this conversation I had with a niece:Her: I thought high school was supposed to be the best time of my life or something.Me: Are you kidding?  High school is supposed to be long, painful, and humiliating.  The average human lifespan is something like seventy or eighty years.  If the best time of your life happens when you're 18, the next 60 years of your life are going to be miserable.  Trust me, all those kids who seem like they're having fun now are going to be pathetic alcoholics in loveless marriages by your first reunion.I was mainly just trying to cheer her up, but I do firmly believe that.  The only ones who look back on high school with any fondness are the ones who, mentally and emotionally, never left.I'm sorry, but nothing you've said has convinced me that you're not the alter-ego of some bored lurker.  I refuse to believe that a real person can be this vapid.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
• Yep, Kiki, that's Ricks.  I'm not sure why she gets overlooked for Sweetest knottie all the time, because she is.

• Fishy hit the nail on the head with her beautiful Billy Madison speech. My vote is can the starry night destiny BS and have a reception like that big party in Billy Madison. You can have the clown and penguin and ride jet skis in the fountain.
• jfgrad: I would TOTALLY go to that wedding.

• Freakin right aerin!
• Oh, Kati...I know who the Jonas Brothers are (kind of, I mean I've heard of them.  Couldn't name a song though), but JoBros confused me.  Georgia, you can get stuck in my head anytime ;) I mean, get songs stuck in my head...I mean...awww shucks.

• Fair enough, Meaghan.  Perhaps I'm just bitter, I certainly know plenty of people who are.  However, I think the "wouldn't go back" thing you mention is key.  I don't think any sane person wishes they were back in high school.
