Who's your baker??

I'm trying to schedule a day of cake tastings in October so my sister who lives out of town can join me, but I'm not sure who to contact?? I have read good things about Tres Belle and Affordable Wedding Creations on here so I guess I will start there. I'm really wanting to stay under the $3/slice range. Any recommendations?

We are using J. Annette's.  I think she charges 3.25 for your choice of cheescake or traditional cake.  I also tasted at Patricia's and Tres Belle, but we decided to do cheescake so that's why we are using J. Annette's.  FWIW, I thought Tracy with Tres Belle was very nice, but I thought it tasted like an out of the box cake.  It was good, but the other places I tried tasted much better.  A lot of girls on here rave about her though, and her cake is very affordable.

A Spoon Fulla Sugar. I am doing cupcakes for $1.75 each. their cake is $2.75 per serving for any number of flavors, fillings and frostings. Our experience with them has been fantstic and our favorite part was they let us dream up anything and they baked it for us to try! 513-683-0444

Erin- I would love to do the cheesecake bar like you are doing b/c we both love cheesecake and aren't really into the whole cutting of the cake tradition, but there is no good place at our venue for this to be done. You will have to let me know how it goes for your wedding though!! :) It's such a great idea!

You definitey MUST go to the Bonbonnerie! It is a little more than $3 per slice, but TOTALLY worth it! SOOO GOOD!

We're using BonBonerie, so yummy. I think it's $3.25 if you get the same flavor for all your tiers. But if you love cheesecake, you could try Jerry's Cheesecakes. We seriously considered them too and ended up getting a small cake from them for our engagement party.

Artrageous Desserts http://www.artrageousdesserts.com/. Amazing flavor choices. Start at 3.25 per slice, but you can get different flavors for each layer no extra charge.

We are using Sweet Water Bakehouse! I'm not sure exact pricings, but for our 150 person cake, it should be about $500 for us!Plus she does gorgeous work! Check out her website!

I also must say that you should try Maribelle's. Delicious cakes, but very expensive!! If I were rich, I would have gone with them!

I second Maribelle, they did a FANTASTIC job at ours. IMHO it tastes better and is more bang-for-your buck then BonBonerie, which I find very heavy and over priced.

I found a baker that does beautiful work with delicious cake, for cheap! She will work with in your budget, just let her know what it is and she stays with in it. In Northern Ky, but delivers. Her cell # is 859-912-3223. She used to work for Fantasy in Frosting, but IMHO has better attention to detail. (I have seen TONS of FIF cakes, and she is cheaper.) All her flavors are the same price and she lets you choose as many flavors you want and will even do half and half on the larger tiers. $2 for Buttercream $3 for fondant and cupcakes for .65 and up.
