Kati - she had weight problems when she was my age and is only trying to help me. She was completely understanding that I didn't want to talk about it, though, and I'm grateful for that. I told her that I appreciated her concern.Oddly my grandma has never really been overweight. Her wedding dress was a size 0 and even now in her 80s she is maybe only like 5-10 lbs overweight because she can't move around much. But she has always been obsessive about it to the point that at least 3 of her daughters and practically all of her grandchildren (myself included) have battled eating disorders. It is really sad and I am really scared I will pass it along to my children someday.

I've been sucking at cleaning lately too. WHich is pretty crappy since I don't work and I'm home all day. But I've been excessively caught up in my job search and trying to finish stuff for school so I can be done with that damn place. FI's been super nice about it too, which makes me feel worse. Whereas I would nag him to do it until we both got fed up, he just offered to help me on his day off. I felt so bad I cleaned the whole apartment the next day. You should have seen his face when he walked in.

Congrats AC!!My only confession is that I hate my job, but I hate talking to DH about it because I don't want to seem ungrateful for having a job at all. I don't want to be a teacher anymore but I spent so much money on school and it's all I've ever wanted to do, so now I don't know what to do. I guess keep making money the only way I know how at least for a while.

How are you feeling? Ok, confession:One of my best friends won a huge cardinals package which includes VIP tickets for a Cubs game (which is a huge one for us because of the rivalry) and she gets to throw out an honorary first pitch. She got 4 tickets. She's taking her husband (of course) and her husband's two business partners (who she's not even that crazy about).I'm kind of ticked off. A couple years ago I took her to the world series, and paid for her ticket. If I were in her shoes, she would have been the first person I offered the tickets to.

AC, that's so exciting. Congrats! I'm in a total whiny mood and hating our wedding. And I feel bad b/c I totally brought FI down and he's all excited about the wedding but all I can focus on is how (almost) everything is not how I want it.

Confession: Our friend is two days overdue with her first baby and she told us we are on their short list of people they feel comfortable visiting them in the hospital once the baby gets here. Deep down I hope that holding a newborn baby again (it's been ten years since S's other friends had a baby) will get him more excited to start trying next year for one of our own. After all, he's the one who suggested next year would be good and that he's ready, but he still doesn't want to talk too much about it, maybe because it's scary as well as exciting.

I just graduated with a degree in Child Development & one in Elementary Education. Last week I interviewed for a recess supervisor position and I didn't get it. Apparently I'm not even qualified enough to watch kids play let alone be a teacher. FFIL asked me repeatedly about job prospects and almost came out and said that I don't have a job because I'm not trying hard enough. He always looks down on me for my field of work (education). I want to scream at him "You work at Lowes; you couldn't even get an interview to be a cashier at Fleet Farm so STFU!"

I love my new job more than any job I've had, and it makes me so happy to work...but...I do feel guilty as all get out because taking the job meant a rather substantial pay cut for me. As a result now Dh feels obligated to work even more hours at his job even though we'd be fine with his normal schedule (like..instead of working 10 hour days he'll work 15 hours).

I had my shower last week. I did good because i got my thank you notes out like 2 days later, but I did bad too.I'm using some of the gifts, even though I'm supposed to wait until after the wedding.

Nah, she's not a jerk. I still love her, she's just not thinking. I'm sure if someone said to her "you didn't ask lpstl? Does she realize the damage she's done?The pill is a little easier to swallow with my Grandma because she's dealt with it. At least I know that she's only trying to help.My other Grandma used to send me nutritional information with my birthday cards as a kid. I wasn't even a big kid, a little chunky, yeah, but not bad - I was still active. My mom put a stop to that as soon as I wasn't scared to tell her about it.
