St Lucia- Excursions? Sandals Resorts?

So we decided to book our honeymoon for the Halycon Sandals Resort at St Lucia. Does anyone have advice on excursions to take/not to take? I know we will want to do ziplines and my fiance already plans to do some scuba diving but I was curious about other excursions around the island??

thanks!

Re: St Lucia- Excursions? Sandals Resorts?

  • whoops i thought i did! thanks! :)
  • The Zip Lines are AWESOME!!!! My FI and I went to St Lucia for a vaca two years ago. We did a lot of scuba diving mostly. We also took a charter boat over to another town for some shopping. What ever you do, DO NOT do the horse back riding! My FI really wanted to because he thought it would be romantic- Not at all! Our horses looked so starved we were afraid to mount them. Then our private tour guide took us through this mudd forest jungle where our horses kept getting stuck in the mud and as they would trot to get through it the mud was being splattered all up on us. In the end we got some good pictures and you would never know what a horrible fiasco it really was- but my FI always brings it up- how it was the worst experience ever for him. lol
We also went to the volcano- it was okay- not exactly what we were thinking or expecting. I would say that one isnt worth the time really. The island is beautiful- For us the best part was the resort we stayed at Anse Chastanet it was hands down amazing!!! We are afraid that we will never be able to vacation again and be as happy because the staff there was the very best ever! It was a resort you never wanted nor needed to leave. We also did the sunset cruise. It was pretty and relaxing- I would do that again but we took a large group- I would prefer to do that just us. :) Or maybe with one other couple. But you are going to have so much fun and never want to come back! When I layed out to tan, our resort had a staff member that would walk around with moist mint face towels and a bottle of "Happy Spray" as he called it! And he would spray you with cool water when you wanted. They were not invasive at all but catered to your every whim! Ah the very best! We are honeymooning in Maui, getting married on Kauai (we like islands lol we got engaged in Bonaire) I'm just hoping the service is are wonderful :)

Honestly, if you don't book any excursions aside from the zip line, you will have a great time just enjoying the resort. Really!!!! :) So happy for you- such a splendid place to go! Enjoy!
