just a warning I am going to be a post-aholic today.

I need to get some stuff done and am stuck on alot of things. First question for the day is...(maybe a little stupid)   When do you actaull change your name? I have the day off of work the day after the honeymoon and am making a to-do list for that day. Do you think I will be able to get all the name changing garbage done in 1 day. Is anyone buying that name change kit? Do you think it is worth it?

You can change your name any time after your marriage license is processed. You won't be able to change your name in just a day. You need to get a copy of your marriage certificate (from town hall), then go to Social Security and change your name there. You then have to wait 24 hours before you can go to the DMV to change your name on your license and registration. I think the name change kits are a waste. I have tons of very detailed instructions on how to change your name in my bio. GL!

I don't think there is a need for a kit at all, and also no need to have it done in one day.  The only place I actually HAD to go in person was the DMV.  You can mail your SS stuff if you don't feel like waiting in line, they send it all back and it's pretty quick.  Then do DMV and then all the other small stuff is pretty easy after that..
