when did you reserve reception?

FI and I were discussing this morning when we should reserve the reception site. He thinks that we should wait till January (wedding's in March). I'm not sure if it's a case of me being anxious, but I think that might be a little late. When did you all book yours?

    We booked our reception at Maggiano's in March 2009 and our wedding isn't until May 2010. If you pick a popular place like Maggiano's you'll want to book it ASAP as it books up really fast!

    We were looking in Aug 08 for wedding in April 09 and places were already booked.  We wound up getting married on a Friday since it was easier to find availability.  We were having a hard time coordinating available ceremony and reception places even 8 months out.

    Def. start looking now. Reception sites tend to book and fill up early.

    I agree with the ladies that have responded already. You need to start looking now. I booked Maggiano's in June for my wedding in April 2010.

    we booked Maggianos in May of 2008 for our March, 2009 wedding. I started emailing them in January though to get prices and such. You tell FI if he wants to handle the reception site, go right on ahead and watch him stress!

    Well, I've already looked at places and I think I want to go with the ESPN Zone. Which is funny because I was so against it until I saw the room and the menu (and the bowling alley).Thanks for the feedback. If I had the down payment I would reserve it myself. Atleast now I can go to him and say "well the knotties said..." Thanks again.
