please help with flower colors

okay I am having a military wedding and my FH is in the Air Force. He is planing on wearing his Mess Dress Uniform and by doing so picked our wedding colors to. Air Force blue (very deep navy), silver and black ascent. My brides maids are wearing silver dresses and his groomsmen are wearing there uniforms as well.

So here is my problem I am confused on what color flowers i want im leaning more towards
burgundy, ruby red, or white. But I am not sure if I am playing it to safe.

Plus will be doing all my bouquets and centerpieces and really leaning towards calla lilys.

    Pick whatever flowers you want. You could do black and white anemones.

    You weren't obligated to pick colors that match the uniform. When you say he chose to wear his uniform and HE picked the colors by doing so it makes it sound like you wouldn't have chosen those colors. If bridesmaids dresses have already been ordered I'd pick a color you REALLY LOVE for your flowers. A hot pink would set off the dark navy and silver. It would probably look beautiful. You mention calla lilies. Those would go well in a yellow. I really think your possibilities are endless.

    I answered you on the Flowers board, but my FI is also Air Force and wearing Mess Dress. We are doing navy BM dresses (not to match the uniforms, I really wanted red, but couldn't find one I liked, so it evolved) with the GMs in either grey suits or tuxes (that's his call). We're using lots of really bright poppy red flowers, because that's my favorite color, with spots of orange and saffron yellow. Lots of dahlias, anemones (Zims, we're using the red ones and the white with a black center, those are soooo pretty), ranunculus, and poppies (if we can get them). Spray roses are also a great way to add a pop of color because they come in so many colors and are pretty cheap. 

    I think you need some sort of color, not necessarily red, but, as Sammy said, something to "pop" because you have a lot of neutrals already with black, white, silver, and navy. I agree that yellow callas would be nice, I'm not as much a fan of the white ones, but they can get expensive. I do think something like a calla that's a little hardier will be easier to work with if you're doing it yourself.

    Man I wish I could shrink our wedding colors. My H is also AF and wore his Mess Dress - we did Bright Purple Bridesmaids Dresses and my flowers were mostly Coral Calla Lillies with orange and pick roses with some dark purple flower that I can't remember the name.


    We did put silver accents in the centerpiece flowers (some silverly glitterly sticks I found on sale at Michaels after Christmas).





    I wouldn't worry about your flowers matching the color of the uniform. Navy and Silver go with anything. Seriously. I joke that my flowers were like a rainbow (minus blue and yellow).



    alright so maybe I miss my wedding and wanted to AW the pics again. LoL
    I want the COOOOOKIE!

    I originally wanted to do black or eggplant and white calla's for all the flowers. Just because I like the deep colors with the pop of white in there, seeing that it was mostly going to be the black calla's.  But now I am afraid that it will be to dark on dark.

    By me saying he picked our colors I always new we where going to have a military color wedding. I have recently gotten out and I really wanted navy blue BM dresses, but when he told me his GM where going to wear there uniforms as wel. I had to do a change up because I didn't want my pictures to just have little floating head because of the navy with navy. 

    I guess my problem is I can't just make up my mind on a flower color.  Everything else is pretty much set as what color its going to be except the flowers now I am thinking white bouquets for the BM and still no clue for me.

    I swear this wedding is turning me gray lol

    I would just pick colors you like. I like the idea of a mix of bright colors.  You could also do shades of colors.  Shades of pinks or yellows would be pretty.
