reputable dress replica's

Ive done searches of gowns im interested in, and some will pull up for $800, $900, and then there are these sites that are clearly from other countries, offereing them for $200. I know they are "knock off"s, but has anyone ordered from one of them? How were they? I asume they arent that good or everyone would buy from them.. but I knew if i didnt ask Id always wonder if i couldnt get my dress for cheaper! :-)

Re: reputable dress replica's

  • Take a photo of a dress and a description to a seamstress to see if its possible to make the dress at a cheaper rate.

  • When it comes to dresses, you get what you pay for. Page sashasmommy on the Dress board--she did the eBay dress thing and it didn't end well.  FWIW, I've never heard a good review of someone who did this.  They always look pretty cheap IMO.Check netbride.com or pearlsplace.com.  They're the only reputable places I've heard of, but it's not a knock-off--it's the real dress for a bit cheaper.

  • If you're looking to cut costs on your dress....why not look for a used dress or a bride who bought a second dress? You may be able to find the one you want for a little cheaper.  A lot of girls post their dresses on The Dress board or Trash to Treasure board.  You can google "used bride dress" or whatever and sites pop up.
  • Reputable dress replicas seems like an oxymoron to me. Most the ones I've seen look terrible.
