name change..where to start?

Hey Ladies! Any of you married ladies have a list or a starting point for this whole name change thing? I found a a site called newlastnamechange.org that helped a little bit. I started to make a list of things to do, and who to contact, and have forms for SS and a Name Change template letter to send to secondary places. Just want to know if there is something I might have missed. Thanks!

    First, get your marriage license certified.  I think you can mail it in...but I went to the office in Northville (Wayne county) because they can certify them on the spot.

    Then, take that license to Social Security and change your name with them.

    Wait 24 hours (for records to be updated), then you can go to Secretary of State and update with them.

    After that, you should have any of the documents you need to change it anywhere else.

    UGH, this took me forever and I'm still not done. Most of the places you have to actually call or visit in person. Here are a few off the top of my head:

    Passport
    Banks
    Student Loan
    Paypal
    Telephone/Utilities
    Work
    Health Insurance, etc.
    Dentist/Doctor/Pharmacy

    Julie, what is the name of the building or office in Northville? Is it the city hall or clerk??

    Wayne County Clerk (satellite office)
    44405 Six Mile Road
    Northville, MI

    It's on the SW corner of 6 Mile and Sheldon.  I went to the Westland satellite office to get the license and this location was about a thousand times better.
