Best acne makeup coverage

Hello all! I'm getting my engagement pictures done in a few weeks. I have an acne problem that is currently being treated and is getting better but there are still quite a few scars and still some small bumps. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good coverup/foundation/powder that doesn't look cakey in pictures but will still cover enough?? Thanks!

Re: Best acne makeup coverage

  • Hey jrdelar! What I always do is use my No6 under eye circle stick on my zits with a layer of powder and then liquid foundation (I use Maybelline Dream Liquid... I think thats the right name!). If its really red I always use a cheap (I know its probably not the best, but they work the best!!) cover stick underneath it all first. Right now I am using Rimmel's stick but its more oily than usual so I need a layer of powder after that. Thankfully it doesn't look cakey after all the layer, I promise! :DIf anyone else knows any other ideas I would love to hear them as well :)
  • Clinique has an awesome concealer that looks great and covers beautifully.

  • Ditto Aimee. I now swear by Clinique Advanced Concealer.

  • Start with an oil free day moisturizer (Murad's acne line is awesome).  Then apply a face primer for your specific skin type (like Paula Dorf or Becca) and it will make your face - before makeup- smooth, silky, AND matte!  Then apply your foundation, preferably liquid or cream and blend blend blend!  Foundations that have a heavy coverage, like sticks or powders, may cause the cakey effect in photos.
