BODY ACNE...PLEASE HELP!

I went to a derm. about a year ago and I have a body wash and cream that I use to help get rid of and prevent acne, but I've really been breaking out recently on my chest and back/shoulders. I think it might be from stress because my wedding is in 2 weeks, but this is stressing me out even more. Does anyone have any ideas of something I could do that might help get rid of them within the next 2 weeks besides going back to the derm. and getting a shot or something? TIA!

Re: BODY ACNE...PLEASE HELP!

  • Wash with a cleanser that has salicylic acid.. look for one with a high percentage. You can buy one at the drugstore- like Neutrogena or something; or go somewhere that carries a cleanser with a higher percentage. Jan Marini makes a high percentage glycolic acid cleanser that may help if you use it a few times. I wouldn't overdo it because it could cause some peeling. Also, if the wedding is 2 weeks away, you have time to get a light peel that can kill bacteria and freshen the skin. For this you can go to a med spa, or esthetician. Good luck, and remember stress and hormones effect your body so relax and enjoy this time:)
  • Proactive just came out with a body wash I believe.
  • I used to have bacne and I used PanOxyl body bar in 10% benzol peroxide, it is much stronger than salicylic acid and worked great for myself (I usually am ok until Winter so I just use it then now).  I got it at CVS.Also don't be afraid to use concealer on your back...just have a friend or family member do it on your wedding day!

  • I started using Cetaphil for sensitive skin. It has worked perfectly for me and it's only $7 at CVS!
  • I have the same issues, and when I need a quick fix I will sometimes use a tanning bed a few times.  Yes, I know its terrible for you but it will clear up the majority of anything going on for me, then touch up with some concealer or foundation.  Just try to use something like colorstay that won't rub off onto your dress!
