Photographer help

I need help badly. I need to find a decent photographer for our wedding in 8 weeks. Our first photographer backed out and went to Las Vegas for an internship, and the next one she reccommended never got back to me. I need to get this figured out. If anyone knows of a photographer who would be willing to work with us with such a limited budget. We only have about 600 dollars for a photographer.I had an idea of giving everyone disposable cameras at the beginning of the ceremony, and getting them back at the reception, how does this sound? I'm really trying to stretch my creativity here.

I'm so sorry that you're stuck dealing with this! My photographer is Lucky Clover - they did recently raise rates, but they do customize packages as well, so it may be worth the phone call. If your alternative is disposable cameras, you can also check out Craigslist and see what turns up there. Just be sure that you get solid references from anyone on there - I feel like a lot of them are just starting out, but it would almost have to be better than nothing. Most of all - take a deep breath and know that it'll be okay!

Try Leigh B Taylor. She's a photographer for the Cincinnati Enquirer & won some awards... very good and very nice. See if she can help you out and work with your budget. http://www.leighbtaylor.com/

I don't think you would get very high quality images with disposable cameras. : ( Maybe contact a photography professor at UC, maybe there's a junior or a senior willing to make some cash. Or a lower priced pro photographer might be willing to do it for less hours. In either case, maybe designate some family and friends to take pics with their non-disposable cameras just to have a backup. Good luck, hope you can find someone!

I would check Craigslist for a student photographer who is building their portfolio. Meet with them in advance, look  over some of their work. You will get MUCH more interesting photos this way without spending a ton. Also, maybe take an add out saying you are looking for services and a number to contact to set up an interview.

Email Breakthrough Images.  I used her for my epics and she's doing my wedding in June.  You'd be giving her enough notice to get off work (photography is her second job) and she'd work with your budget.  Our whole package is just over $600 and that includes our epic session.  Tell her Rebecca and Seth sent you:Breakthrough_Images@yahoo.comYou can find her facebook page here:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Toledo-OH/Breakthrough-Images/97085505558?ref=shareWhile she is from Toledo, her location fee will still fit within your budget.  She mailed us a CD with full-quality pictures on them so we could do with the pictures as we please.  We're give her all five stars and two thumbs up and are super-pumped that we didn't break the bank on her. :)You can see our epics session on her facebook page or my planning bio.Good luck, honey!

Also check out Robert Hogan, with No. 9 Images, I think he used to have some packages around that price. Many girls on here had used him and he got great reviews. http://www.no9images.com/pricing/

Um... I thought vendors weren't allowed to post here? Did something change and I missed it?
  • edited December 2011
No, you're right mama.  Vendors are NOT permitted to post.

Yeah, no vendors are allowed to post.  This person has posted several times over the past week recently, too.
