OOT Bags?

Are OOT Bags exactly what they say...bags that you only give to guest not from the area?  Or can I give a bag to anyone that has a reservation at one of my Blocked Hotels?  I mean to be honest all of my guest should be considered as OOT because we live in Tampa and my event is in St. Pete...LOL

If you are doing these bags what are the items that you are placing in them?

I am from MI and having my wedding in Clearwater... I am using reusable grocery type bags and items that are going to be in them so far are:  sunscreen, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, luggage tag, travel size Tylenol and Dramamine things of that sort.  Some of the girls on the Destination Wedding board have a long list of things they are including if you'd like me to find them and send them to you, just let me know... HTH!

I would give to anyone who has a blocked hotel. Who couldn't use some water for the morning after :)

I am doing for everyone that has booked a hotel room. Even if its a local guest, I think its nice to have that there for them =)

We are making them for everyone in a hotel room, but with our guest list, I doubt many of our local guests will stay in a hotel. We are stlil gathering items, but so far we are putting in (besides a personalized welcome letter) water bottles, oranges, little flamingo ornaments, sunscreen, playing cards, and brochures and maps of the area. Probably going to add another snack item and maybe some soap or sanitizer.

What do you do if your OOT guests are from Florida?  Most of our guests are from S. Florida so I don't know if the usual sunscreen would work.  Maps and hand sanitizer would be good for anyone but I hadn't put any thought into this until know so suggestions are appreciated.  Also, how do you know where guests are staying?  I couldn't reserve blocks at the hotels because of Spring Break so I'm giving any OOT guests that ask a list of local hotels.

I used them mostly for people booked at the blocked hotels but also for people I knew were OOT but staying at other places.  We tried to stick with a Florida/tropical theme and put in sun chips, oranges, malibu and carribean rum, sea shell shaped cookies, bottle of sunscreen, water bottles with our logo, postcards and magnet with a beach pic of the area, other snacks, maps and local area info

    QUESTION:
Most of my guests are staying at the hotels we blocked - Hotel Indigo and Hyatt Place - however we have about 10 guests staying at the Ritz.  If I drop off OOT bags there, will they give them to the guests at check-in?

    Thanks

I would say yes...I dont see why not.  I am sure that if you do not have a room block there they may just ask you to put the guests name down that will be checkin in so that they can note the system that they have a package waiting at checkin.  At least that sounds good:)

Moon- I would think they would (if you wanted them delivered to the room it might be harder b/c I know they charge for that).  We didn't have a block at the Hyatt but had a few guests staying there and they did that for us.
