Dresses

Hi Girls, It's getting to the point where I need to start thinking about looking at wedding dresses. The problem is, I want to spend under $1000, if possible closer to $600 or under. I have no idea where to start looking. A friend of mine when shopping with her sister at Fabulous Bridal in KY and said the dresses were pretty expensive. I think that Bridal and Formal is the big store in Reading, but there is a post a few down about how a girl was treated poorly at a local salon because of her budget, but didn't say which. I guess what I am looking for is advice from girls with similar budgets about where to shop. What stores make a big deal about your budget and which are professional and treat you like any other customer? Is David's really as bad as everyone says? I have to admit I have never been in the store but I am a little biased against them because of negative reviews I have read. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!!

The sales should be coming up. Contact Fabulous Bridal to see when they might be having one. You get great deals on off the rack dresses. I went to Wendy's and got an off the rack for just under $450. David's Bridal is also great for budget dresses if you want to special order and Snooty Fox in Mariemont is great for gently used gowns! They only accept dresses 2 years old and newer so you will still get an up to date style. HTH! Have fun!

I went to Fabulous Bridal! It was great, my friend also went there. We both got off the rack dresses. My friends dress was like 350 and mine was 550. They were well over 1300 dress!! They did a really good job stay within budget. We went up stairs to the 'full price' section and she kept me in one area so I wouldnt see something crazy out of my price range. (which was very nice!)highly recommend. april helped me

I had a great experience at Bridal and Formal.  They also have off the rack dresses and you can get great deals. I unfortunately do not fall in the 4-6 size range of dresses, so the off the rack ones didn't work for me : ) but they will definitely work within your budget.  Work with Bobbi she is AMAZING!

I actually bought my brand new dress for under 800 bucks at Bridal and Formal! You have to search but it was worth it.

I had no problems at David's Bridal in Kenwood.  I went on a weeknight, so I think that helped.  I found my dress on the $99 rack (originally $950).  I tried on a bunch of others but even the salesladies said the $99 dress was the one.  The fact that they were willing to say the cheapest dress looked the nicest was a big plus for them, as far as I'm concerned.

I got my dress at B&F as well and have had NO problems at all.  Betsy was my sales rep and she is the greatest person!  She was so nice, she listened, and never pushed me.  I didn't really go into the store w/ the intent to buy nor a budget b/c I was just looking.  Three trips later and I ended up getting my dress for about $600 something.  She gave me 20% right off the bat and I didn't even ask.  I would give it a try!  Its worth it to look and they price match, too.  GL!

I loved David's in Kenwood.  I bought my dress and all of my BMs dresses there.  After a couple of my girls didn't lose weight like they wanted to, they even let them exchange their dresses for a bigger size.  It was a much more intimate store, I got my OWN dressing room, and the women who work there are very nice.  Jessica was my consultant, and she remembered who I was every time I walked into the store.  I used B&F for my first wedding for everything, and I bought a BM dress there for my brother's wedding last year, and after those experiences, I'll never shop there again.

I also got my dress BRAND NEW at B&F for less than $600. And I had EXCELLENT service. Tracy was who we worked with and I am convinced she is what kept me sane while trying on dress after dress after dress.

I got my dress at Fabulous Bridal. With the $250 discount email I paid $550 for my dress. That was new, ordered just for me. Not off the rack. It just came in last week, I picked it up Sunday. I am so happy with the dress. And the service was amazing. My consultant was Donna M. I love working with her.

I also got my dress at B&F--for just over $500--brand new.  They are sooooo willing to bargain with you!  I had two dresses I couldn't decide between. One was going to be off the rack and they cut the price in half from what was on the tag!  The one I ended up buying I ordered and they knocked over $200 off! I had a great experience with them. GL!

I had a great experience with Bridal & Formal also. I found my dream dress elsewhere but due to sizing issues and really nasty seamstress I had to find it again and wound up at B&F. I was really upset from the whole ordeal and Sally (my sales rep) was AMAZING. She was so sweet and completely turned my day around. They cut my dress price in half because of my unfortunate issues before coming to them. I have nothing but great things to say about them and they have all price ranges and seem to really care about each bride. I was a BM in a wedding in June and my friend (the bride) also got her dress there and loved the experience. Give them a shot for sure!
