Invitation Budget and Vendor

Sooo, with September underway, I'm guessing that I should start seriously looking for invitations... That being said, my budget is tighter than a fresh weave sewn-in by a heavy-handed stylist ;)I've looked at VistaPrint (which is were I got my STDs and they came our really nice) and 123Print. If I go with either of these, I'll probably have to put a little DIY touch on them to jazz them up, but that's cool... My stepmom suggested RexCraft, not sure if I'll be able to swing some of their prices.So, what is/was your budget for invites? How many did you order? Where'd you order them from? Did you break the bank???(Upload pics if you have 'em.)

We didn't really have a budget, we knew what tone we wanted to set and found invitations that fit our wedding for what we wanted. We will order no more than 85 invitation packages (invite, response card, reception card, and 40 accommodation cards). We are also getting place cards, menu cards and maybe programs.We found our invitations at Bella Figura www.bellafigura.com

LOL. Damn pinkpanther that's tight! I got my invitations from Target. I'm not sure if that's a mistake yet 'cause I think I'm going to hate printing them out myself, but I saved some money so that helps. I purchased about 200 invitations but I stayed within budget. However, I'm a bit pissed because I just went yesterday and saw that they are even cheaper. Maybe I can take them back and get a price adjustment.

Yeah I got my invitation kits from Target as well. I bought 150 and stayed well within my budget. I worded it the way I wanted to put in the printer and it came out just fine and everyone loved them!

Okay I'm one who broke the bank on invitations. I just love invitations and I'm one of the rare ones that keep invitations that I like and scrapbook them. So I went with a company and she is going to totally design everything for us from invitiations, tags, favor boxes, thank you, table numbers, escort cards - everything. I know all of these things can be DIY but with a 16 month old who is into everything - and I know how stressed I can get - I opted to have someone do it for me. I'm paying well over 1500.00 - with a guest list of about 200+

The first time my Mom paid $1600.00 for the invites, then we switched the date after they where printed, so I had to pay another $1100.00 to get them reprinted. I had 100 invites which included the rsvp response card and envelope, directions, there was 1 more card but I can't remember what it was for, all written in thermography. I paid another $300.00 for calligraphy on the outer envelope. I paid another $200.00 for stamps from www.zazzle.com .I bought them from A stylish invitation designs (local) www.stylishinvitationdesigns.com .

Dawn, you'd be surprised to know just how reasonable your invites are, especially with all that you are getting...that's a really good price. I would love to be able to negotiate my price down to $1,500.Kudos to your momma!!!

with all due respect and to each his own, but I definitly am not spending over $300 for invites including postage. my invites will be custom designed by an etsy person. She charges $65 to design everything, the invite, response cards, menu, etc. I will purchase the paper online and either print them myself or assign a BM to print them for me or go to office max. People look at them, say how gorgeous they are and them 90% of them get tossed in the garbage.

BRobin, I keep hearing about etsy but, although I've gone to the website, I cannot figure out how to purchase anything on it. It just looks like a site at which people barter goods? I'm not sure. Can you tell me how to get to the person who is doing your invitations? If you wanted, would she print them for you also or does that go behind what etsy is really for?

My lady is actually on maternity leave until January.ok, go to Etsy, and do a search for invitation suites. People who are selling this will pop up. Look at the prices and information, do a bit of research to see which person offers the price and or stuff you are looking for and then contact them. You have to have an account though. Some people print, some people don't print. My designers does not offer print, but I will go to office max or Kinkos and have them printed.
