Re: Candy Rasins for candy bar

  • The company who made candy raisins (Stark/Necco) went out of business in 2009. I believe it was a trademarked recipe, so there aren't any others out there.

Gawd I miss those things... CryFrown
  • I've seen this company on a lot of candy packaging - either at Farm & Fleet, or possibly Sendik's.  You could contact them and ask.

It would be a waste of the OP's time. Like I said, candy raisins was a trademarked name AND recipe and the company who owned it is out of business. Trust me, I loooooooved candy raisins.

It would be like trying to specifically find Reeses Peanut Butter Cups if Hershey went out of business.
  • If Necco went out of business, how is it that I still find Necco wafers everywhere?
Did someone purchase some of the recipes and rights?
    Praying for a miracle!

Necco owned Stark Candy, and closed them down.

I was in mourning for those poor innocent candy raisins (and still am!)

I've had the Candy Sunshine. It's OK, but they are made in very small batches and the recipe is still being developed/improved.
  • Do you ever get out by the Amish?   They have candy makers that make excellent candies!  You could check and see if they have any.  However, that means a trip into the country because they do not have phones.  :)  Also, don't go on a sunday because they are closed for church.  Weekdays or early on Saturdays are your best choice.
  • You could just go with Raisinettes (sorry if spelling is off)
  • I know I have seen a candy raisin-type at Farm and Fleet, and other stores, but not the original candy raisins! My FH loved them and cant find the originals anywhere!!
