Hey everybody. I've been engaged since late March and have been lurking here for a while. We met four years ago in school; we had a class together and have been inseparable ever since. There's no proposal story — we'd just been talking about it for a while and then came up with a plan. We did make a day out of shopping for the ring and the watch I gave him (why shouldn't the guy get something?

) followed by a nice dinner out, which was fun. We're about to set a date of either September or October of 2010. We're totally set on the fall for a number of reasons, including the fact that we're hoping to avoid extreme weather since my parents got married on the hottest day of the year and his parents got married on the coldest. Everyone looks uncomfortable (but chipper!) in both sets of wedding photos. The wedding will be here in Toronto. We're getting married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (at St. Clair and Mt. Pleasant) and our prep courses are in March. We don't have a reception site yet, but we're working on narrowing it down to four or five to go check out in person.Anyway, I'm glad to be here. If anybody has any experience with or suggestions about fall weddings and/or brunch/lunch receptions (which is what we really want), I'm all ears!
