Flowers

I am from a smaller area...Beaver Dam. I met with a florist in Beaver Dam and a florist in Columbus (near Madison). The first guy, who is proclaimed by all to be the best in the area, got a little carried away with my vision and gave me a quote of $3000. I almost fell out of my chair because I had an initial budget in mind of $800. Then he cut a bunch of things and shrunk stuff down and came to $2000...still way more than I want to pay for flowers that die or get tossed out. The lady in Columbus seemed to get my idea of what I wanted and told me $1200. Just wondering what you girls are paying. I have 4 couples standing up so I don't have a huge wedding party. I am doing small hydrangea center pieces for the tables. I could imagine paying the $3000 if I was going with a vendor in Milwaukee but not in small Beaver Dam! Maybe I was just out of touch with what flowers really cost???

Flowers don't have to be that expensive! I'm getting married in Green Lake and am using a florist in Ripon-the shop is called the Flower Basket. I haven't finished picking everything out, but she's very reasonable. I would call and ask if she's willing to go to BD since it's only 40 min away.

$1200 sounds more reasonable but I couldn't say for sure unless I knew what flowers were in your bouquets.  Just an FYI, Hydragena's are one of the more expensive flowers so that is why the cost might be more than you were expecting.  I ran in to the same thing as I also wanted just small simply hydrangea centerpieces and still thought they were a little pricey, it is just the nature of the flower.  But I do love hydrangeas!
